Brake Failure Warning

Has anyone had their F3-T (or other spyder) throw a "brake failure" warning on the dash and it go away? This has happened to me twice. The first at Spyderfest - the techs looked at it and said it was erroneous. The second happened yesterday. I rode it around the block and it went away. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Check your brake fluids, linkages, physical abnomarility, dirt, leakage and found evrything normal and light went out I'd say good to go but still vigilant.

I had same thing, end result is that you really need to keep the fluid level at the upper full level and not in between the low and full. Try that and se if the light goes away.

Brake Failure warning

I have had the same warning and had trouble engageing or disengageing the parking brake. Answer: Low fluid level. My bike has only 7500 miles on it.

Fluid level is very sensitive. You may only need a teaspoonful or so.

Be sure to use DOT 4 brake fluid, i think everyone has you covered on bringing the level up, as your brakes start to wear they take more fluid to stop and that may be why you are getting the "Brake Failure" lights

Little checking..

Most common are....
Brake fluid level
sticking brake light switch
burnt out brake light bulb
worn brake pads
brake fluid sensors
and like most fluid level sensors they can cause a warning if you hit an angle that puts the fluid out of reach. Like loosing a bar or gaining a bar on the fuel when going up or down a hill...:thumbup:

They got you covered. It has always been low brake fluid when I have had this pop up. Add a nice incline and BINGO. :yes:

I had the Same problem because the brake fluid was leaking from the caps.
I remember there is a specific direction the caps have to be installed because of the "vee" cut vent in the rubber diaphragm.
Not sure if that vent design is fixed on the newer models or not.
