• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bluetooth

This guys is doing it with the Scala G4..

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...tions-Answered&p=614295&viewfull=1#post614295

From the Scala Q2 website...

Thanks to MDC technology the scala rider Q2 PROoffers parallel connectivity as follows:

Alternate between two additional scala rider headsets on intercom mode and one of the following Bluetooth devices

  • Mobile Phone (either directly orvia a GPS device)
  • GPS device
  • A2DP enabled MP3 Player orAdapter
Priority Management: No need to manually disconnect from intercom or music to receive incoming phone calls or GPS instructions!
Additional entertainment features:

  • Built-In FM Radio with RDS
  • Connection to an MP3 Player (cable included)

If you want to try pairing to my SM-10, we can set up a time, I'll bring it over, and we can give it a try. I believe it will work.

Now, depending on how many bluetooth channels your scalas have, you may have to sacrifice you phone pairing to get the music.. That I don't know.

Only works brand for brand

...From the user guide...

Thank you for choosing the Sena SM10. The SM10 is a Bluetooth dual stream stereo transmitter based on Bluetooth 2.1+EDR technology. You can connect various audio devices such as mobile phone or MP3 player by using the SM10. It also supports onboard audio systems of specific brands by using optional audio cables. Along with the dual streaming feature of the SM10, both you and your passenger may listen to the same music or radio at the same time by using most any Bluetooth headsets in the market. The SM10 has an AUX audio input that enables you to connect additional non-Bluetooth audio devices such as a radar detector or GPS navigation.
Please read this user’s guide carefully before using the SM10. Also refer to www.senabluetooth.com for the latest version of the user’s guide and additional information related to Sena Bluetooth products.

The original poster wants to try and pair a Sena headset with a scala one I believe. That isn't going to work.

But the scala may be able to hook to the Bluetooth dongle on the Spyder for music.

Two totally different things.

The original question was
"Does anyone know if the Sena sm10 will pair to the Scala Rider Q2 headsets?"

The Sena SM10 is a dual stream media device. It is not a headset. That is it will take an input of audio from the 3.5mm port or the 3.5mm aux port. It can stream this media to up to 2 headsets. This is in fact what BRP sells as their BT dongle (The same stock Sena SM10 and a special dongle cable).

See this discussion here:
http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...dding-BRP-Bluetooth-Dongle-Questions-Answered

And this post where I used a stock Sena SM10 myself and made the BRP dongle to connect it to the RT radio:
http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...-wiring-to-the-BRP-radio-Make-your-own-Dongle!

Sena states that ANY BT device can pair to the Sena SM10. This is unlike their own headsets.
Now to be honest, when they say ANY I think they mean any that use standard BT protocols. Of course other manufacturers can change this so it is proprietary. So your mileage may vary! I do not know if the Scala will bind to the SM10 but chances are it should.

But the Sena headset will not be able to communicate with with a scala headset.

The Sena is a far superior product in my opinion. The ultimate solution is to just go with all Sena equipment and ditch the scala stuff.

SMH 10 headset will not But The Sena SM10 Bluetooth dongle will as long as the same bluetooth technology is used. That is direct from Sena.

Dongle mad

Don't make the dongle mad!

I bought the dongle with the harness at the owners event went to update the firmware and now only the red light (not charging indicator) comes on and the sena update software says device not recognized. Can't get it to alternate blue and red like its supposed to. Even tried resetting it with a paper clip. Anybody had this trouble? I'm hoping I hooked the harness up right did it in the wheels through time lawn that thurs afternoon. :banghead: Anyone else had this trouble with a brand new unit?

Turn off, take inside and charge it for an hour or two. Use the USB cord that came with it.

You can't leave it on in the frunk. The battery dies and won't turn on unless it has a charge even if it is plugged into the USB.

Still red

I did charge in the house and tried to see if it needed the firmware updated. Only the red light comes on now.
