There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Bluetooth Netflix through Garmin

I have the complete com set and currently able to access my phone while riding via the Garmin 660. Do you know if you can do the same thing with the audio from netflix or music on my droid phone?

Regards,

Randy

Sadly from my tinkering and calls to garmin it does not support a2dp from the phone. Just garmin to headset. Its a darn shame too. I have found the garmin bluetooth to be moderate at best. I kinda wish i had just skipped it. But its there i just never use it anymore.

A Bluetooth dongle plugged into the Garmin's audio port should take care of things for you.....

I have a Gramin 550 and an Apple I Phone4. Play music through my Cardo Scala G-4 head set, linked to my Garmin which is linked to my I phone. works great.

How does the dongle work then, you plug it into the audio out of the garmin, how do I get the netflix sound to the garmin?

Thanks for any help,

Randy

My question is if you have an android phone it has google maps on it and you can bluetooth your phone to your helmet. Problem solved and I didn't have to buy a GPS system. It works for me, I also use the same system when I am in the car.

Don't have any direct experience with the Garmin but I have some knowledge on the topic.

If you you google around, you'll find lots of people complaining about Garmin's A2DP implementation. A2DP is "Advanced Audio Distribution Profile". A2DP is the way a bluetooth device streams music from a player to a recevier.

So in theory, you should be able to make a bluetooth connection between your Garmin and your iphone or droid and both make and answer calls as well as listen to any kind of media in stereo. But in practice apparently Garmin's A2DP receiver sucks from the reviews I have read.

You can always try other phones or other bluetooth headsets to isolate the problem.

Me personally I LOVE my Sena bluetooth helmet system. It is way better than I had hoped in terms of volume, clarity, and performance.

The zumo does not have any sort of audio input (except for a remote mic input that is used only for BT phone calls). So there is no way to pass audio from any external source through the zumo to an external device.
Just curious, but do you mean Pandora instead of Netflix?

Right now I can hear my phone in my helmut via the garmin/com set via blue tooth but was wondering how to also hear sound from netflix movies when I am watching them on my samsung galaxy phone. I just thought if it will stream audio from one souce on my droid phone why not sound from netflix, pandora or for that matter music stored on it.

Yes, I run movies when I am driving but for the most part just listen to them for the company. I have to ride alone until we finally get a club going here in the northwest.
