• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Blog-First Ride on the Spyder RT

Great report! Makes me want to ditch the crutches and go play! Seems they might be in the dealerships around the time I can start walking again, so this could be a good thing indeed!

They plan to have these in the Dealers hands by Dec. and every dealer should have a demo unit by Nov.

The Dealers I've spoken to are stating that even if you place the deposit now, it wont' be available until February or March. Can you confirm the December availability? Since I live in The Sunshine State, that's MY riding season!

I can only confirm what they told us when we were there. Maybe things changed from then until now. :dontknow:

When you catch up with the Factory Reps, feel free to have them clarify the initial delivery dates. Your information will be greatly appreciated. The Dealers down here don't seem to be well informed on the new RT's. As we've all learned, we can get more info online than we can at some of the Dealers. Sad, huh?

All they would tell me was Feb/March for the new model and that the initial run has not sold out...yet.

I went to another Dealer yesterday, (one of the Mega-Dealers) and am working on a deal to buy the RT-5 as well as a temporary Spyder to ride until the new one came in. It has some nice mods, but no risers on the bars. When I asked if I could get some three inch (or so) risers, they seemed unfamiliar and stated they would have to get back to me. I did receive a call from the parts department guy today (nice guy) and he stated only one-inch risers were available.

Just from reading this site, I know that's not correct.

So, any help you can provide will help them sell an RT-S asap!

BRP only offers a 1" riser. All other risers or bars are aftermarket.

+1. That's probably why the parts guys at the dealership knew nothing about any other risers. FWIW, dltang and I turned our dealer onto NoMagicNeon and they now stock a few of the NMN products like the 3 and 4 inch risers. You'll find that in some cases, you'll be educating the dealership on Spyder things.

Thanks to Ben Burped for resurrecting the thread. This post pre-dates me coming to the site. Feb 2010 was my first post.

I placed an order for a Premier Edition in December of 2009 and got #474 in early spring of 2010. Traded off my 2008 GS with 23,500 miles on it. The first GS sold in Alaska. I also had the first RT sold in Alaska. I put 36,500 miles on mine and traded it off in April of 2014 for the new ACE triple.

The article was very good and gave as much information as was available at that time. Rider magazine did an early test and they said similar.
