• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Blind Spot Mirrors

riderscan off

Now that I've had a chance to use it, sorry to say I'm taking it off.

I have a 2008 GS with ESI 4" risers and the up and out mirror extensions. I've noticed with a vehicle in the next lane and even with my rear wheel I don't pick it up in the riderscan. The view is hindered by my shoulders/arms and handle bars. It isn't until the vehicle is just about even with me that I see it in the riderscan.

The best set up is what I had/have; ESI up and outs/risers and the small round blind spot mirrors attached to the stock mirrors.

This is JMO. The others who have it may very well like it.

I do have the riderscan set up the way it states in the instructions. Maybe on a 2 wheeler the position/size of the rider and handle bars won't create an issue.:dontknow: I'm 5' 10" and 173#; a light weight compared to most here. So, I don't think my size is an issue.

Yup!

Wouldn't work on my Spyder...I can't get my door panels off...;)

I received my Riderscan and can't believe how much more it allows you to see..I'm very pleased with it and know I still have to take a peek over my shoulder before switching lanes..This takes away the "where did that car come from?" moment when you get passed by a speeding car..

I love my Ryderscan as well!

:agree:
:agree: PLEASE do not rely on mirrors alone! You've still got to twist your head around and actually SEE if things are clear...

100% right...I always take a quick glance to see what is beside/behind me...mirrors are okay...they vibrate too much anyway, no matter which extensions you have. I had the Kewl Metal and they were simply crap...got the ESI and they are better, but still not great. I think someone has to manufacture an additional arm to attach to the side of the bike for more stability...that's just my take on it...

Bottom line: Look before you go...never rely on mirrors, be it on a bike or in a cage!

RiderScan on RT

:dontknow: Anyone put on a RiderScan on a RT? I purchased two RiderScans a few months ago and put one on my Honda Shadow 750 windshield and I love it! I bought the 2nd RiderScan for my eventual Spyder RT Limited. I'm wondering how well the device works on the RT windshield. Any thoughts? Thanks!
