• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Biggest Complaint

Thanks to everyone who responded to my safety post. I'm looking into getting a Spyder and want to know much as I can before I buy one because it's a big investment for me. So, what’s the biggest complaint you have about your Spyder?

Still need to work, so not enough time to enjoy... :)

Seriously though, I haven't found anything to complain about. There have been some "quirks", but I think most of that was my fault, trying to over control.

The main thing is to make sure the dealer you go to has an experienced Spyder tech, and ensure they perform the pre delivery inspection / setup good...

I don't work so I ride the hell out of mine! Things I don't like: turn signal buttons on the RT; gas mileage; daytime display on the RT can be hard to see in bright sunlight.

Too much time to work. Not enough time to ride :spyder2:. Short riding season. No problems with my :ani29:'s other than regular service.

I would agree nothing to really pick about. Some initial pains i had are long gone. I guess my complaint would be too many farkles :). Best part is this forum. You wont regret it. I would agree that a quality dealer is important.

Too many warranty problems, mostly related to throttle body. This costs me a lot in time and money each time as the nearest dealer is 45 miles away. I love the bike, just being honest about the problems. I average a break down every 2 months in the past year.

With a RS my biggest complaint is the temptation I'm subjected to. So many good looking women want to ride on it and it's hard to resist when your in a commited relationship. Or do I ??????? :doorag: I'm not sure the RT's have this problem or not, although I hear Dave does very well carrying his dog Teddy.

Service is expensive and it something as simple as a loose battery connection can cause all kinds of error codes.
But, nothing compared to the fun it gives!

Not to be trying to start anything... :roflblack:

Is Holly commited to the relationship? I hear that there are pictures floating around the internet of her on an RT... :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

My only complaint is I dont get to ride enough! Other than that it is great. I love the attention it gets even from other bikers. It looks wicked too! Get one and you wont regret it! Most fun i have ever had! And my wife likes it too. She is an RN and i am a Paramedic and she does not like motorcycles at all. Until she rode the spyder and that was all she wrote.

I've not been able to put enough miles on it... :gaah:

Geez Bob, get off the keyboard and get on the bike. It's that simple.

And don't give me that excuse that you have to work. As many times as you post you can't be getting much accomplished.:roflblack:

Only complaint

Gas fumes when I turn it off. I let it cool down on the d/way before putting it in the garage. But I love my Spyder!

Never drove a 2 wheeler, fell off the back of one...... Love the :ani29: it's the only bike I've ever owned. No complaints.

I haven't had my GS SE5 Spyder very long but the complaints I have start with the seating position of the GS/RS (I know get an RT, well could not afford one and they seem to be having too many bugs). For me leaning forward placed too much strain on my steering so that I did not feel I could fine tune my control over the handlebars. This I fixed with the addition of a set of HeliBars® risers. They allow me to set up straighter and let me control the Spyder with my arms instead of my shoulders giving me much finer control.

Second is the placement of the feet. I feel there is too little control over your bodies lateral movement making me feel like I could be thrown off the Spyder. This I fixed with the addition of Seal Floorboards. they give me something to put my feet on that allow me to feel some control over the lateral forces that you get in a curve on the Spyder.

Third I feel the seat is a little wide. I am not a small person but I do have arthritis in the hips and for longer rides it will probably be a problem. I don't think there is a fix for this other than taking more breaks and that is probably a good thing.

Forth is the gas mileage but the enjoyment of the ride covers that.

I guess the only other complaint is the expense, but that evidently was not a big enough point for me since I found a way to buy one.

Oh! I almost forgot I got spoiled with my Burgman scooter it had three good storage (glove compartments) and a lot of under seat storage while the GS/RS only has the trunk. I intend on fixing this with some homemade custom storage (glove boxes). Just don't have the specs worked out yet.

You didn't ask but when mentioning complaints I feel it is only fair to the Spyder to also mention some of the joys. Riding with the security that 3 wheels offers is a big deal especially when cornering at slow speeds. With the Spyder you really get the feeling that you are controlling your ride and not just following the road which is for me a very good thing. The styling of the Spyder is such that it makes you feel proud to be seen riding one. Since this thread is about complaints I'll stop here just know there are far more joys in owning and riding a Spyder than complaints and the complaints can be fixed.

Hope this helps.

PS The Seal Floorboards have helped with the heat since I don't put my feet/legs as close to the body letting some air around my legs/feet.
