Best exhaust on the market?

2 questions num. 1 > Are you running a J.B. or stock?
2 > Do you have any videos that we can hear the muffler?

Thanks ED

1) I have a Juicebox on it now with a green filter. And All I can say is WOW!! The performance difference with these three items is night and day!:spyder::2excited:

2) We have not done any sound clips, but it is compairable to the Yoshi/Micron/Motad systems. Its not obnoxious (at least in my opinion), but you wont be sneaking up on anyone either:roflblack:.

OK; SOMEONE'S gotta ask, so here goes: What's wrong with the stock muffler? Is it a question of loudness? The Spyder is FAR from invisible! I have a 2-into-1 on my Harley, but it NEEDED the extra power....
Is the stocker heavy? I do have my Excelsior Henderson mufflers leftover from when I built a 2-into-1 for it. They are lighter and quiet and one would look good on the Spyder.

It's a combination of looks (the stock can is huge looking), sound (the stock can sounds wimpy) and performance (the stock can holds back about 5 HP). After riding with a Hindle exhaust for a while, I decided I liked the quiter sound of the stock exhaust and I put mine back on.

Nothing is wrong with the stock muffler. It is well made and does the job of muffling well.

Downsides are UGLY - Heavy - Unimpressive - Loss of Potential Power. But all of that (except for being heavy and power loss) is opinion. And just because you put an aftermarket pipe does not automatically mean you have improved any of the downsides.

I wouldn't run some of the aftermarket pipes others like, and they might not think much of mine.

You just have to be comfortable with what you like. Believe me, if Doc can be comfortable with that rabid Kewl Metal pipe he was running then anyone can be comfortable with whatever they enjoy.

I added the Hindle pipe about 3K miles ago ... LOVE IT! sounds good without being to loud. I have been on group rides behind a spyder with the Dual Two Brothers exhaust and its a little too loud for me... really loud when you're behind it.
Plus the TB dual wouldn't fit with the BRP hard bags.

You should have ridden with Doc when he had his Kewl Metal pipe on. You can hardly hear the 2 Bros then. Really, you couldn't hear anything else at all! :yikes:

If you're wearing ear protection (which you always should), the guy in front shouldn't cause too much distress...... even Doc's wasn't too bad with proper ear protection on.....

I had the Hindle and really liked it--- but it blew open after 20,000 or so miles... so trying HMF Carbon this time as it's cheaper and easier to repack.

Come to Lamont's BBQ and you'll be able to see and hear just about any combo you could possibly want.

We could have an exhaust look/sound contest! Just line up, rev up and let people vote!

I like that idea ! :2thumbs: ... And while we are comparing the Two Bros, Hindle, ESI and Leo Vince exhausts, we could compare the Corbin, Comfort and Russell seats along with the various 7”, 14”, 36” and 72” Windshields that are available. Don’t forget that it needs to be done in the dark so we can see how much we like the Day Runners Pucks Fender Tips Mud flap Brightsides and determine how much light pattern each one throws out. Now we need to do this during the “Jump The Ditch” contest so we can also try out the Elka Suspension …. Just be sure you have Bert’s Mega Mall extended warranty and the tires loaded with Ride On. Might as well have the Bushtec Trailer connected. Aerocharger’s Turbo Charger will need to be installed to propel all of this over the ditch and finally – don’t forget to turn the GoPro on so we can record it all :yikes:

Micron is junk.for 400.00+
rusted and was coming apart guick.
I have a cheap 100.00 one on now and is holding up fine.10k plus on it.
Going for hmf next, had on the atv and was a hit

I constructed an exhaust using a one of those stainless glass packed exhaust tips, the stock spyder clamp and slip joint, and some stainless plumbing and kitchen items for internal baffle. Man it sounded good, unfortunately I didn't re-install the retainer spring(no hook on the new tip) and back pressure won this round. Another tip is under way, all together cost about $40.00.

If memory serves ATADUDE had a killer exhaust setup that he pretty much engineered and built himself. It start out as a twin can setup. Then it transformed into a twin, one single on each side of the bike. I want to say the cans were from a Valkarie. It looked clean man. Don't know how it sounded.

The nice thing about the Spyder setup is that with that simple 90 pipe you can hang almost anything on there with a little enginuity. The sky is the limit! I'm going to see if I can find his setup, it's worth another look! :2thumbs:

The left/right can was from a GSXR1000 and Evoluzione plumbing. Evoluzione cancelled that dual sided exhaust plumbing, high dollar and bad quality from the shop fabricating it I believe(there's only a few out there).

That could be what I was thinking about. Well. it sure looked cool! :D

At least two people here have made their own exhaust setup, ataDude and krb1945. I think that krb1945 used Goldwing mufflers. ataDude tried a few different aftermarket mufflers along with at least one warrior pipe.

ataDude's mods thread His exhuasts start at about post 25 and are sprinkled in with his other mods over the next 6 pages of posts.

krb1945's exhaust thread

These were just the folks that I remember who built their own pipes. I didn't include anyone who has put on multiple mufflers like Lamonster. Lamonster might have the record for the number of different mufflers on his Spyder. :D

All of this has to be approved by our current Ditch Jumping title holder. Though he didn't make it over the ditch last year, he was, by far, the most committed to the event! And the light show was AWESOME!:roflblack:

I guess we forgot to announce the competition and almost everyone was gone when the fun started!

Ditch - 1
Spyder - 0

Rematch 9/23.... Be There!

The last set with GSX-R1000 cans and homemade separate headers were the best. I still have them in case I buy another Spyder.

Not really. Those photos are spread across 7 pages plus a lot of other stuff and I just thought it would be nice to have all of those photos in one easy place to reference to. If folks want more detail they can go read the thread.

In regards to the last set would those have worked with either the Givi or Corbin bags. I know that is a harder question considering they are on the bike anymore but I just thought I'd ask anyway. It looks like the krb1945 system would easily work with bags. I just really like the look of a dual system! :D

They would work with extension brackets that lowered them about 2". One bolt through the muffler and bracket... second through the bracket and frame mount point.
