Best ECU flash results ever for me

Thanks for fuel economy info, Dennis.........very interesting......Mind you, I’m so happy with my flash from Jase that I couldn’t care less if my MPG suffers a little :2thumbs:

Pete

I have been reading about the ecumenical flash my dad told me of.
I am officially in ecumenical flash savings mode. I can't wait

Duane, :congrats: & :welcome: ….. I just sent a return PM …… Mike :ohyea: ... PS you might want to PM " SethO", you guys have a lot in common .....

i am very happy with stage 2 tune no need to down shift to pass also so far have reach 120 mph and felt there was more to go

Iv'e been testing ECU reflashes for the 1330 motor and the finale product is complete. But I can't up load the video as it's not a compatible?

Here is where the finale product is at for performance.
1. Stock 1st gear 0 to 50 mph @ 6 seconds, Flash 0 to 63 mph @ 6 seconds
2. Stock 2nd gear roll on at 35 mph @ 6 seconds = 63 mph. flash 35 mph to 83 mph 6 seconds
3. Stock 3rd gear roll on at 45 mph @ 6 seconds = 73 mph. flash 45 mph to 96 mph 6 seconds

I'm probably going to take some flack, but here it is. Monster Fuel injection out of Canada specializes in ALL THINGS BRP for flashing.

I'm testing the finale flash and trying to get 500 miles on it. All that's left is to finalize the rev limit. My test ECU is at 9,200 rpm and my RT gets there really quickly, " about 10 seconds" in the first two gears. The Monster Fuel team is considering 8,800 rpm for the rev limit as that is slightly past peak power. There is a flash form on the web page.
Here is what you need to know, premium gas only, works well with stock exhaust, no straight open exhaust, " you have to add a Big City Thunder sound insert or Lamont's cat delete with insert, Akrapovic or Two Brother exhaust with the P1 performance tip.
Here is what you'll get. first the video looks and sounds like a NASCAR shot of the dash. The tack needle and digital speedo are just a blurr and the sound of shifting @ 9,200 is utterly amazing. We set the stock mapping to work below 60% throttle pull and the attack mapping above. For the RT owner you can choose to stay in the stock map all day, but, get to 5,000 rpm in any gear and you'll have fantastic two up power for passing. Dump your passenger and run with the big dogs. But the best is for the F3 owner. Open the throttle anytime past 60% and you'll first notice an uptick @ 4,000 rpm. At 5,400 rpm you'll have matched your stock peak performance. At 6,200 through 9,200 You'll be the Leader of the Pack.

Are you testing the Stage 2 or something more advanced??

Yeah.. that 1550 is a beast... but it's also supercharged.... I've ridden one... they go like a bat outta hell.

If you want a 3 second 0-60 mph you will need some serious traction modifications. My stage 2 2015 F3's hits 4000 rpm & rear wheel spins to the 8600 rpm limit on blacktop.

:oldpost:

Dennis' post at #119 is from a couple of years back, so it's probably testing from before anyone thought of 'Stages'. Firefly's too! ;)

That being true--BRP must have really de-tuned the 1330 to meet emission standards--It's still hard to believe but "the proof is in the pudding" Big Thanks for the video.
Darrell
Doesn't Calif require a vehicle smog test every 2 yrs in order to renew your plates???

Two years is for cars/trucks only ...not motorcycles..in california, the spyder is classified as a motorcycle.

The 1330 is really downtuned to meet Calif. Carb Standards...they running real LEAN. put on the tune AND a non-restriction exhaust..that spyder will come alive!!!

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?106460-Monster-Fuel-Injection-Tuning-on-an-F3S Keep in mind this is for stock rev limit with 20 hp gain. My ECU testing reveals I pull red line cleanly at both 8,800 and 9,100 rpm. So peak power should be around 35 hp over stock.

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?106515-Monster-Fi-video-test-clips-RT-ecu . Take a stop watch to this video of an RT with Baker Air Wings. 50' of rubber with the nanny kicking in. 0 to 83 mph in under 8 seconds. Like you I have wasted bigger money for a lot less gain.

the horsepower is even higher depending on the type of Exhaust youre using!...very important.....I removed all baffles in the exhaust, which is a restriction...the stage tune needs to breathe...by removing all the baffles in my exhaust..the tune performance is much better.

Dennis--did you time those accelerations with a Cat Delete or normal muffler like the Akraprovic straight shot muffler? Also did you delete any body work that might cause air resistance. On my F3's the windshild & saddle bags would slow the Spyder up in higher speeds. I'd like to see a few 0-60 mph Stage 2 timing runs using a stock muffler compared to the Cat Delete.

I'm the author of this thread. I wanted to review my recent Monster Fuel stage 2 flash. I waited until my 3 year warranty ended for my 2021 RTL. I sent my ECU and my friends 2023 RTL ECU in for a stage 2 flash. Turn around was reasonable, about 9 days thru Wick-It and Mr. Colman. My last ride was an 2016 F3L that had the faster gearing over the RTL. The F3L gearing accelerated quicker and was an absolute hot rod. Not so much with my 2021 RTL. In the lower RPMs below 4K the bike feels much the same as stock. Here is where the flash is most notable. 1. From a standing start if you want to really get moving, once you get to about 4,200 RPM in first gear, things really come alive. If you shift north of 7,300 RPM you will be going 90mph plus which is about all I need from my RTL. 2. The best thing the flash does is give you GREAT passing power even riding 2 up. Example:3 vehicles in front of you is a car going a little slower than you would like. The cars in front of you are reluctant to pass and without the flash I would have just lost hope I had enough power to pass 3 vehicles. NOW, I shift down to 4th or 3rd gear around 50 MPH and by the time I clear the front car I'm going 100 mph when I pull back into my lane. The flash took time for me to really calibrate what my new power could deliver safely.
So, bottom line is the power is really noticeable above 4,200 RPM. The engine sounds like it should, mean and nasty. For merging onto the interstate it's very comforting knowing the power is there to quickly match interstate speed before you leave the entrance ramp lane. Having real passing power riding 1 or 2 up gives you confidence you can pass safely.
Conclusion: The flash will deliver outstanding results for the F3 sport line. For F3L and RTL owners, because of the taller gearing, there is a delay to get to the power area of the flash. This is not a big issue. You need to be aware of what gear you are in at a given speed and be willing to down shift as necessary to get above 4,00 RPM to tap into some exciting power delivery.
Bottom line is I like more horse power and my RTL stock was really lacking in this are. Now that I have the stage 2 flash it puts a smile on my face when I tap into the new power.

Although I didn't have a ECU flash on my past 2019 F3S, I did have a Dyno Jet PV3 with (2) custom maps built by Jamie Long from Fuel Moto. Like your previous results, with the 89t rear pulley, my light(er) F3S was a complete hot rod. I needed to be judicious on quick accel to avoid tire spinning. That said, I now have a 2022 RT STS with (4) years of warranty remaining. I will remain to be content with just using my Pedal Commander for a more responsive throttle. That said.. I did keep my PV3 in case I decide to buy a tuning license, and Jamie said he's ready to build me a new map. I guess you just never know :)

:oldpost: This post goes back to July/2017. It has been dormant since 2019.

Posters have come and gone since that time.

Post accordingly.
