• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt vibration???

Had my '15RTL in the shop last Friday....they adjusted my drive belt (was in contact with inside flange). They successfully moved the belt so it was no longer touching. In the process, adjusted the belt tension. Did a 200 mile ride yesterday and consistently at 2800 - 3200 rpm I felt a new vibration. Having read about the "dreaded 60 mph belt vibration" here on the forum, I was wondering if this IS what I was feeling? The fact that it did NOT do that prior to the belt adjusting, wondered if the belt tension is the culprit? Too tight or too loose? I'll take it back tomorrow, but wanted your valued experiences here. THANKS for the help!

Well yes...

The belt tension will vary the belt vibrations mostly at where they occur. Belt tensioners can help eliminate a lot of it. Have heard that being on the looser side has been the best for this problem. I have owned built and riden so many rattle traps in my time that I have learned to not linger where the vibrations occur. I did install a tensioner which cleared a lot of it up but with a belt that long your gonna have vibrations. Trick is to move them to where they don't bother you....
