• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Belt Replacement Help

I just took off the rear wheel and can't figure out how to get the belt off and around the frame. Does any one have a video on how replace the belt?

If you took the fender or swing arm off so you had the belt on the out side of that frame rail would that help?

I have the rt, so I watch a you tube on a tire change, couldn't get a good view of the ass end but that was what I was thinking!! Good Luck!!

Can you post a photo of what you are dealing with and circle the area that is giving you a problem?

According to the Service Manual: Take off the left side body panels and there is a lateral support you unbolt below the fuel tank, then you can get the belt out that way.

Is that in the manual?

When asking a question please tell us what model and year of the Spyder you are asking a question about. For the specific question you are asking it makes a difference. F3 forum, so I guess a F3, but there are many types of F3s. May I suggest putting the spec of your ride in your signature. That way you do not have remember to do it everytime you ask a question.

For stuff like this it is helpful to have a service manual. A digital copy is cheap and you just download it and usable in an hour depending on your internet speed.

Thank you. Was able to get the belt off easily with your instructions. I am now waiting on the new belt to arrive and about to purchase the shop manual.

Appreciate the help.

Remove the big side panel, the seats and the smaller panel near the footpeg. There is the foot peg bracket and guard near the front sprocket. Those need to come off, easy peasy!
