• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Be careful and get what you pay for

 I know it well...

That's the dreaded, "Where the heck can I find somebody to follow me over there?" issue... :banghead:

....There are two types of time .....REAL time and SHOP time( hours ). Spyder dealers aren't the only ones who do this. I'm sure all car/trk dealers work on The BOOK = shop hours written for any given job, and this what they charge you for ( unless they take longer :roflblack: ). I just brought mine in for warranty work and it was stripped of PANELS......they were practically DANCING they were so Happy....because it was going to LESS real hours for them.....but they would charge BRP ...SHOP hours .........:gaah:......Mike

Agreed others do it, but that doesn't make it right. As you pointed out they will charge you more than the "book hours" if it takes longer, so they should charge you less if it gets done quicker.

Having had worked in automotive flat rate shops or 15 years I can tell you a flat rate shop is the devils workshop. If here's a shortcut to be exploited, it will be.

It's very unfortunate.

That is called flat rate'

All automotive shops go by a flat rate,
if it says a service will take on average 1.5 hours
that is wgat they charge for, even if it takes 15 min.

Thats a great idea. Hey dealer, not that i dont trust you, but i dont, i need to watch my service being done. I wish we could all do that. most of them give you the line about insurance wont allow us to let you come in the shop area. Which is also probably true but most places you can probably see from the entrance. it would be nice to verify the time if nothing else. I had a dealer charge me 1.5 hours to do something and they called me in just under an hour from drop off it was ready (i had no ride back so was walking the neighborhood waiting and they knew that) but they still refused to lower the price from 1.5 hours labor which personally i have a problem with.
