• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Battery drain. Heat or something else.

I have a 2015 RT which I parked at work Sunday night and returned to a flat battery Wednesday afternoon.

It was over 40 C Wednesday and I'm wondering if heat can have an effect on the battery.

It jump started OK and a battery tester didn't report any issues and it seems to be holding a charge at the moment.

Is it possible that somehow the electrics didn't shutdown properly.

I will get a jumper battery for emergencies as work is 120Km in the country side but was wondering if there is something I should be checking.

BTW it was hot enough for the LCD screen to be black on startup but it did recover.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Little checking..

Do you have any power outlets with power all the time..? Some have them to charge phones mp3 etc. Something could have been left on radio or lights..? The dash issue happens, on mine I can pull out the safety card to hang over and block the sunlight. If you can get a Antigravity or other micro power pack. Will jump bikes and cars...not trucks...as well as charge phones, mp3, gps, computers etc.

Extreme cold or heat shortens the life of batteries. How old is the battery? If it's past 5yrs old it's definitely on its way out, even if you use a battery maintainer. Keep riding it as long as it holds charge, but bear in mind batteries do wear out.

When I started having battery troubles I went to NAPA (auto parts house) bought a power pack for $90.00. Stopped that worry 'til I could get a new battery.

I like to keep mine on a battery tender when not in use but the few days you had it sitting shouldn't cause that. Have that battery charged and load tested. Then check your charging system to see if it's working. It could be as easy as a dirty or loose connection. The cluster is very touchy about heat, especially direct sunlight.
