There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. BAJA RON SWAY BAR WOW!!

ST HANDLING

Like 900Dave says. It's a piece of cake changing out the links. 2 13mm wrenches, lift the front of your Spyder just enough to get under it, 4 bolts, 4 nuts and you'll be done in a few minutes.

There have been very few OEM link failures but it appears that over time they get fatigued (with or without my sway bar installed) and have potential to fail.

I rode an ST and I was quite disappointed in the handling. I tried to be gentile but there is no way to sugar coat it. I told the owner that there is no way his ST could even come close to keeping up with my 2008 GS in the turns. I have my bar and 2010 RT shocks but still not as good as a bar and Elka setup.

He said 'No Way' so I said, let's go right now. So we did. It wasn't even a contest. He said 'Well, I was catching you in the straightaways!' Which was true. But I was slowing up in the straight stretches so he could be right on my tail into the next turn. Otherwise, how could we even tell if he was keeping up.

I am surprised that the ST (SPORT Tour) version isn't more, well, Sporty! At least put the Fox shock on it from the factory. With the added weight of bags it needs more control in the suspension than the RS or RSS.

I am also quite surprised that so many are satisfied with the way the ST handles. I'm not disparaging anyone. If you're happy with your ride then who am I to say. Still, my bar and a set of upgraded shocks and the ST is a twisty burner. Which to me would be putting the 'S' in ST.

I guess I used to think my ST handled good it tracked super good on the freeway and wasn't effected very much by wind or truck buffeting.
(compared to my wife's RT) and I have never had the chance to ride an RS/GS however after reading time and time again from all you great folks on SL how great the Ron bar is I had to try it and what a huge huge difference it makes in the corners WOW factor of ten for me I never thought our Spyders would corner this good and up here in the NW we have lots of mountain roads with endless twisties I have to say I am really excited and now understand what everyone has been raving about thanks to all the SL members.
and thanks to Ron for putting the (SPORT) back into my ST

Sway Bar

I had the Bajaron swaybar put on last week and since I've had it put on it seems like the suspension is really rough and the vibration in the front is worse than it had been. I feel like I'm driving a log truck. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do? Also I have 20 some weights on each front tire is this normal ? What tire pressure do you have in your front tires ?

 The Anti-SwayBar shouldn't ad vibration or harshness; I added one to my 2010 RT, and it rocked!
You, "Had it put on"... Do you have any way for the correctness of that installation to be checked? If you still have the instructions, you could just pop off the lower A-arm covers, and take a peek...

It is very unlikely that it is the sway bar but in any case, I'd love to help if I can.

This is the first upgrade anyone should do that wants to make there Spyder corner better & help with cross winds. No the sway bar will not affect the ride! When you are going down the road strait the sway bar is just along for the ride. I was going to do a shock upgrade but after installing the swaybar it seemed less important. I will probably switch to Elka's eventually but not this year. The Baja Ron sway bar is the way to go. :2thumbs:
Hi Dave! How r u guys doing? Ray wanted me to ask u if u installed to sway bar yourself or had someone install it? Hope to ride together again soon!

Getting the swaybar, heim links, & laser alignment on 7/1. We have 5,600 miles on our 2013 RT LTD SE5, and it will be interesting to see how the next 5,500 miles develop. From all accounts, handling will be greatly improved, giving both driver and passenger more confidence. Will post a recap after the work is done

Well I just got back from doing the Dragon. While I was down there I had new tires put on. That helped a lot with the vibration. It cornered great. I almost ran over those Harleys I was with. LOL

It seems that there has been a quality control issue with the OEM tires lately. I've heard this same scenario more than once recently (about the tires AND The HD's!).

Sway Bar

I installed the swaybar and heim links last night on my 2014 RTL,very easy like other posters have said the most difficult part is getting the front end high enough. I used a ATV/motorcycle jack and jack stands and it worked great. I just got back from my first ride with it installed and all I can say is WOW what a difference. It corners like it is on rails and a 30+ mile an hour crosswind was not even noticeable.Anyone on the fence on weather or not to add this upgrade dont hesitate. It is the best improvment you can do.Thanks Ron

How do I get my RT to handle better

I recently bought a used 2011 RT SE5 and so far I'm loving it. I installed the Baja Ron sway bar w/links a week ago and during my first ride I picked up the left front wheel. Admittedly, I was going way too fast (not quite used to three wheels yet), but its left me a bit nervous about pushing the machine. I know the potential is there, but I'm not sure which direction to take. I'm a big guy 300+ lbs so just having that much mass up high could be a challenge for the machine. Other than the sway bar, I'm running the stock shocks at the 4th stiffest setting, the air shock in the rear and have the tires set at 17psi front 28psi rear. Can anybody give me advice as to how to properly set up my RT so I can get maximum enjoyment from it? ;)

How easy was it on your ST-L ? It's a job I would like to do.
My dealer upgraded my shocks to Fox podium ones under BRP warranty, but they didn't upgrade the sway bar.
Did you keep the oem plastic links on ?

Any help would be appreciated.

HI HOW'S IT GOING? I HAVE A 2013 STS SE5, WOULD LOVE TO UPGRADE TO FOX PODIUM, AM CURIOUS HOW YOU GOT YOUR DEALER TO UPGRADE UNDER BRP WARRANTY???

THANKS

You might want to look into some aftermarket shocks. But lifting the inside wheel isn't a big deal. More unnerving that an actual problem. I'd up your front tire pressure to 20psi and see how that goes.

Getting smooth in the turns is the key. If you jerk the Spyder into a turn it's much more likely to lift a wheel. Start to the outside of the turn, look through the turn, apex to the inside at the correct time and power out. Once you get smooth you'll also be fast and probably keep all 3 tires on the road.

It also helps to lean to the inside of the turn and forward like you are trying to touch your chin to your hand and if it is a really sharp turn try hanging a cheek to the inside as well this gets the weight over that front tire that you lifted off the ground and like Ron said smooth on the handle bars do your braking before the corner and roll on the throttle at the apex of the corner and look through take your time and get comfortable the nanny will let you know when your pushing it! above all be safe
