For those of you wanting to add a little more light to the back of your
scoot, here is a suggestion if you do not need a backup light.
Get on the internet and find a BAY9 red led bulb and install in place of
your backup light. Cut the B/U light wiring (tape the exposed wire) leaving them as long as possible. Now decide if you want a stop light or a running light and cut and splice
accordingly. I run a Gear Brake module and wired mine into the brake
circuit. It definitely helps light up the back of your scoot when slowing down.
I have a couple of red 6" long cob leds mounted vertically in back. I recommend the Gear Brake module. It flashes your tail lites when you slow down or
the scoot is downshifting and goes solid when you touch the brake. I tend to
just let my scoot slow down as it downshifts and the Gear Brake module lets
the cage drivers know without me touching the brake. Saved my bacon a couple of times.
On a different note, the red led cob strips can be found on the net for $8 or $9
and well worth the money. They come with an adhesive strip for mounting that will
do for temporary mounting. I mounted mine vertically by pop riveting a length of
1/2" x 1/2" aluminum to the saddle bag brackets. You will need to take a couple
of zip ties and firmly attach the cob's to the brackets as they do get hot and the
adhesive strips are not up the job of holding them in place.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS:yes::yes::yes::yes:
