• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet brake light

Just bought a couple of GMax 3/4 helmets from J&P in Ormond Beach for $99.00. The ACE model. For another $40 I ordered LED kits for the back of the helmets. This includes a AA battery pack, a strip of 8 LEDS and (get this ) a plug 'n' play radio transmitter that taps into the Spyder's (or any bike's) brake circuit. Use the brake and the unit sends a signal to the helmet. Helmet lights up with red LEDs.

Ain't life grand?

I have this one from Custom Dynamics (a site sponsor).

It has 9 settings, if you have LEDs; 4 if you are using the stock bulbs. It's a simple plug and play. Instructions are clear cut.

More info when you scroll down to Can Am:

Here are the instructions:

They offer a separate one for the RS or the RT.

Thanks! I hadn,t seen this? So it will work with the stock GS brake lights? Wonder how it would effect the CD Center light that is tied into the line?

Yes, it will work with the stock bulbs; but, you don't get as many of the functions. In regards to your 2nd question, I don't know. The kit, if I remember correctly, only has 4 plug connections. If the CD center light is before the plug connections, it shouldn't be affected at all.

Did you see note #2 at the end of the instructions? Is this what you are talking about when saying "the CD Center light"?

Yes, I am using two XP backoff modulator, one on the Spyder hooked to the Dynamics HMT light bar and one on my pull trailer light bar. They work great.

The XP modulator only have two mode. Mode 1 is 4 short flashes followed by 1 long flash, then repeat it self while brakes are applied. Mode 2 the mode that I use, is 5 short flashes then stays on while brakes are applied

I did not want the brake light bars wire as running lights. I think having the light bars coming on only while the brake are applied attracts more attention. Just my 2 cents worth.

The only flashing brake light legal in California is 4 flashes then steady solid. Position "0" on the Custom Dynamics brake light module by Custom LED.
