There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Average MPG for the RT?

There is no non-eth gas in Oregon's far left Portland metro area, so I've had to start using Star*Tron (see other threads), which amazingly helps.

Milage has slowly improved to around 31 overall, 36 at reasonable highway speeds on cruise control, and over one tank - riding with a group that refused to exceed 55, I actually hit 40.2 - two up!!

All-in-all, milage greatly depends on the conditions, road, speed, and steadiness of your right hand….

I am sorta in the middle of my trip. But from St James in Mo to Merrill Wi via Iowa, back roads, smaller 4 laners towing BRP trailer ( wt in at 1640 lbs with me on!!! GOTTA LOSE WT!!!!) have been getting about 29 mpg. Have RT-SE. run with windshield down all the time, had a bit of cruise where it was mostly straight stuff( twistys in cruise NO FUN). MAJOR Problem.... WIND!!!! Didn't matter which way I was going seemed like I was in a head wind!!! IOWA had cross winds that darn near blew me off the byke AND moved same over quite a bit. Snapped MY neck!!! Sheeese. They don't have helmet law but still wore mine and it cought a considerable amount of wind! ouch! Fought with the wind all the way up here. Went up to Tomahawk area twice without trailer on cruise freeway stuff mostly and got 28 then 29 then 26( really bad cross and head winds on cruise, shield down going about 66mph) Only have,as of today, 6365 on the odo. I have been putting in 87% type gas BUT have added a teaspoon full + a little of OCTANE in a bottle. Can't tell if it helps or not. Have a list of 248 gas stations in Wi that have gas that is NOT got ethenal in it. But so far haven't gotten to the one close by here. Forgetfullness is a pain!!

Getting 31 to 33 mpg with 2011 RT ryding 2 up most of the time and under 65mph most of the time. Cant tell any difference between regural and permium fuel, but a big difference with wind screen all the way up. guessing about 2 to 3 mpg.

My wife now has 9,000 miles on her '10 RT and she has owned it since August last year. She meticulously keeps track of fuel consumption and has averaged 30.6 mpg since she has owned it. Her all time high was 35 and her all time low was 25.

My 2011 RT just turned 600 miles (it is going it for first service on Saturday) and so far I have averaged about 29 mpg. I babied it for the first 250 miles but once it felt loosened up I have run it up into the 7-8,000 range a few times. I'm convinced the key to keeping a new engine running strong, be efficient and return good gas mileage is to vary the RPM as much as possible for the first few hundred miles and not keep it at a steady pace.

JMO.

Mine is 28-31 on most tanks. Got 34 one time. Others have addresed riding conditions and variables. Areodynamicly speaking--we have a lot of frontal area on :spyder2: which is the main culprit.

I guess most of us ride for the fun and gas mileage is a secondary issue.

I got 45 mpg on my latest tank on the Vulcan 900 though.

That's easy for you to say,
With the price of gas being so high i had to let my chauffeur go and drive the Bentley myslef.:D

100% gasoline and about a 20% increase in mpg

:2thumbs: I have have my blue monster for about 15 months. I have checked and recorded every fillup since I purchased the Spyder. My mileage ranged from 25 to 27.5 mpg, less when I pull my trailer. I have switched to 100% gasoline, after 5 fillups I have been getting aboout 32.5 mpg on every tank. Unbelievable! :2thumbs:

:helpsmilie:Whos is getting better mpg and how are you doing it? I have a 2010 RT and get an average of 22-25mpg on a good day with perfect road conditions and at 65-70mph. Some are saying they get 35mpg, or 28mpg and then there are those that are just like me...25mpg MAX. How do I get 30mpg? Please reply with YOUR average...and if is better than 25mpg, what are you doing to get that? I even had a day that I only got 20mpg but, that was at 85+.:dontknow:

Just returned from a 3800 mile trip with a 2011 RT Limited. Had 1015 miles when I left on the trip. It ranged from 28 to 36 depending on the speed and elevation. Average was probably close to 30 riding at 70 mph. No problems, machine run great.

Guess this just rubbed me the wrong way, sorry

We are all entitled to our respective opinions, & I respect yours, but WOW, what an attitudenojoke you share. I have personally sacrificed a lot to be able to buy Teddy his :spyder2: & we Ryde it on a daily basis & we have a Great Time doing it:yes: But yeah, fuel economy DOES matter to me & it would seem to a few others here as well:dontknow: or no one would post about it. Seeing as someone did, and they are asking for others input on what their units are averaging, why spend your energy & time berating them for it? I'm as curious as the next guy what I can do to better my average mpg's, cause the less I have to put out for gas money, means all the more trips we can take:2thumbs: Nuff said, rant over:chill:

My last 3 tanks on TEDDYS 2011 :spyder2: RT-S SE5 now with the 2010 barn door back on, & we're averaging 26 mpg's. Still better than what I was averaging with his 2010 :ani29:, which was closer to 24-25. I'm curious to see how our trip goes to the LBBQ & Maggie Valley, as we're gonna be pulling TEDDYS Camper with us. We're gonna top 6000 miles on the OD on this trip:clap: & we've only had this one about 2 months so far:2thumbs:

I get right at 30 on reg.+. Windshield up, curse when possible and very seldom over 70 mph. At 150 lbs. I'm not much of a challenge. BUT WAIT!!! I try to do 50 to 100+ miles every day just for the fun of it. I would ride 25 mi. for a qt. of milk so how can I really worry about how much gas I'm using. I'm riding for the pure joy of riding and have other(not many) things to worry about.

Ride in comfort,

John

On our 2010 RT-S we've averaged about 34 mpg generally driving 2 up and at speeds ranging 35 - 55 mph. We keep the windshield down most of the time.

Using the "Gas Cubby" app for my I-phone, have tracked over 4,000 miles of travel and 34 fill-ups. The lowest MPG tankful was 29.4 mpg and highest was 42. Fun App... and I think it was free!

In Flarda, I was getting between 29 and 31. However, since I've been up here in Maggie Valley, I've been averaging about 32 to 33 MPG. 2010 RT-S Manual.

Milage?

31 MPG at highway speeds. That's 65 - 75 MPH varies other traffic. On twisties at 45 - 60 I get 38 MPG. Front tires are at 20 psi. And that barn door of a windshield on the 2010 is hanging in the garage. I bought the touring windscreen that's 4 inches shorter and a couple narrower, makes a huge difference in handling and MPG. Oh, and those numbers are with a passenger the whole time.

Gas Mileage during break-in

I just have 370 miles on my 2011 RTS/SE6. I fill the tank up completely and I am getting just about 35 mpg at this moment. What I will get the next time I fill up ? Who knows.

Just returned from Maggie Valley. Drove over 2100 miles on our RT 2 up pulling our trailer. Got as low as 24.61mpg to high of 34.61 for an average of 30.09mpg. We are quite happy with this.:ohyea::ohyea:

We need an Droid App Listed now too!

On our 2010 RT-S we've averaged about 34 mpg generally driving 2 up and at speeds ranging 35 - 55 mph. We keep the windshield down most of the time.

We track our mileage with an Andriod app called Mileage (free). It's very easy to use and who doesn't have their cell phone with them all the time now. By the way our average is 30.5 riding mostly two up with windshield all the way up at freeway speeds.
