• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How old are you?

I was surprised by the results of this poll. This is worse demographics than Lincoln. I bought one of those too. No wonder BRP is not that worried about repeat sales.... I have ridden several 2 wheelers over the years. I know how, just never really enjoyed it all that much. Well. Country roads and no traffic rides were great but too few. I can actually enjoy a commute to work on the Spyder (weather permitting). I have ridden my Spyder more miles in the first 2 months of ownership than I have my wife's Harley in the 4 years she has had it. I am either ahead of my time or just an old fart before my time.
probably the old fart before your time!:joke: we're sixty one and the wife and i feel like kids again. speaking of kids, my youngest daughter (26 years old) would rather ride with me, when my son in law and i go on rides together. he drives a harley. she feels safer, is more comfortable, and doesn't feel threatened as much by others on the highway. sound familiar?

how old are you

i am 66 and having as much fun as i was having in my early 20's riding enduro all over th southeast. was riding some strange bikes back then( huskvarner, six day penton, hodaka super rat, etc. oops did i just tell my age

71 for a few more weeks, then I think I'll stop keeping track, too many other things I'd rather think of.
Some of the earlier posts got me thinking about what I've ridden before; anybody hear of a Cotton, Greeves, Bultaco or Maico?

I did not start riding until 1948...scooter with a old time washing machine engine....metal plate rubbed the rear wheel for braking...no front brake....I have ridden in England, Germany, France, Korea, Japan and a very short distance in Viet Nam.

:spyder2:

I'm about to hit the old double nickels(55). I call my Spyder Pearl. I've been with her since June 1, 2012. On that day my divorce was final in the AM and I purchased Pearl in the PM. I've never been happier! AIN'T LIFE GRAND!!!

Interesting poll... 77.15% (as of now) of owners have identified as in a 50+ age group..

So a few things stand out to me:
  • I think discretionary income for what is not a cheap machine has to play a roll
  • One could also conclude (based on other posts on this board) that physicality is also a factor
  • I would almost lump a perceived "safety" factor in with physicality but I think it warrants it's own bullet point

For a valid comparison it would be great to see Harley data for riders with a bike of a similar average price point.... Goldwing data maybe...

Sorry, I've been at work all day analyzing marketing data so this post bleeds in with my work day...
