• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Auto retract of windshield doesn't always work

Our 2021 RTL electric windshield will usually retract to it's low position when the ignition is turned off (and then return to the previous height when powered up). But sometimes it does not lower automatically?? Anyone else experiencing this?

(not really a big deal, but wondering if something is scrambled in the electronics)

The only time you should need to press the adjustment button is if you want the windscreen to stay up after you turn the key off.

Check your battery, mine did it today as I have to pull my spyder out to gain access into my garage. I just turn key on and disengage the P brake. If I do this a couple times a week the battery gets drawn down and today it stopped rising as the P brake was disengaging then resumed. Has to be my battery is a little lower than normal so I plugged it in to the battery tender.

My mate's 2021 RT Limited has recently started doing the same - i.e. the windscreen sometimes lowers on switch-off but sometimes doesn't. The small number of responses to this thread suggests it is not a common problem?

I know someone else posted about a similar problem, but that was over a year ago so I hope I can ask again.

My friend's 2021 RTL electric windshield will usually perform the built-in auto-retract to its lowest position when the ignition is turned off (and then return to the previous height when powered up). But sometimes it does not lower automatically. Is anyone else experiencing this, or know how to fix it?

My wife's same age RTL S2S has not had the problem.

You know, there is a way to disable the autoretract feature. If you hold one of the windshield buttons while turning off the Spyder, that disables the autoretract for one cycle. This enables you to maintain the windshield, either remove it, or simply clean it. Is your friend touching the windshield button while shutting the bike down ?
