At what age did you, or would you switch ???

I'm coming up on 58 and I don't plan on switching. I like a sport style ride and all my other bikes are sport or sport-tourer models. I like the bent knee, toes on the peg style so the RS suits my style just fine. I found I can throw on some panniers and an Ortlieb dry bag on the back seat and go anywhere I want in comfort with a basically stock bike.

I had a chance to actually sit on an RT today while at the dealer. I was surprised by how nice the seating position is. I found it to be quite comfortable. The whole thing felt pretty good. Still not sure I would ride one though. Kinda like Jane, a sport ride is more appealing to me.

They also had a VFR1200 and a FJR1300 there... both are extremely nice machines. The FJR seems to have my attention. :shocked:

Hey, Jane, where in So. Il? I was born and raised in Benton. No folks there anymore. I go back every two or three years. Lots of great roads to ride south of Marion...loved it..

I loved my Bandit 1250....0 to 100 in seven seconds. When I hit 75 years old, I found I was riding my Gold Wing more and the Bandit less, so I sold it. My group, the Hill Country Road Riders, are mostly retired, old time riders and we ride every Saturday...

If I like my RT-S better than my Wing, I may sell the Wing and get a RS just for fun...I like the looks and they are more sporty than the RT...I see there is a big weight difference... Anyway, enjoy 58, it gets worse...ha ha

I got my RS-S on my 69th birthday it is the best thing i have bought .I am not gray I have little hair left. I ride and feel as young as the rider next to me. as long as you are enjoying the ride who cares what other people think or say.:2thumbs: .to each his own.

I know that this has some up before... but can you tell us all a bit about the differences in the handling and ride between the two vastly different trikes?

The 2011 RTS has a stiffer suspension and I find it is easier to handle on all kinds of roads. Turning is about the same because I rode both like a snowmobile shifting my body forward and into the turns, and keeping the outside leg stiff.
