• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm in my very late 30's ( I know I'm just a pup to some ). I have the RS Spyder. It's a sweet sporty machine and that is what I'm into right now at this point in my life. I was wondering at what age did you or would you switch to the RT edition and give up the sport look ? (high windshield, all those extra compartments, ect ). The reason for asking is I'm noticing more and more gray hair coming in everyday. EEEEK !!!

What makes you happy is what you should ride. Don't worry about what other people say.

I'll be 60 in May, and I don't have any plans to switch. It's more than just age that determines what you ride.

I have both. (it is a bit pricey way to go) I still like the sportier look of the RS a little bit more. But I find myself riding the RT 95% of the time. As we know they are really 2 different types of ride - at least for me. But they are both head turners and a absolute blast to ride. I'm 47 btw.

:2thumbs:

I'm 46 and don't have any plans of switching anytime in the near future. This decision is also made easier by the fact my wife also has her own Spyder, so I don't need to worry about carrying any of her stuff. :D

We each have our own RS. bjt is 47 and I am 48. If money was not object he would switch now, I on the other had would keep what I have. It is all personal preference and really has nothing to do with age.

I don't plan on switching either. I might just shed one RS for a nice Sport Tour.

But that's just me, man. Yazz is right; ride what makes you happy. It's all about bein in the wind...

We have one of each. Nancy prefers her RS most of the time. I like both, but usually opt for the comfort of my RT for burning up the miles. Can't be beat in that regard. Of course I also put an equal amount of miles on my BMW RT last year, and did about as many miles on the vintage bikes as I did on the RS. I guess I am always ready to switch...and I have been since I first became a multiple ride owner at the ripe old age of 19. It's not about switching, it's about enjoying everything you ride, and riding what you enjoy at the moment...at least it is for me.

I don't know if this counts, 'cause I've never owned an RS, but I traded in my H-D Ultra Classic on a 2010 RT-S at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 2 days old.:yikes::yikes::yikes: .....and I haven't looked back!!! Luvin' it!!! :ohyea::yes::ohyea:

:agree:

I came into this thread a few times trying to get the words to show up like you just did. That is the nuts and bolts of it. The RT has so many creature comforts the RS will never have, yet the RS has a more "Spirited" desgn it is impossible to get both in one bike in all reality. It is not age really, it is want.

Or as my wife puts it for her own idea on this subject... From the factory the RS impresses her for actual sport bike type single ryder aggressiveness and the RT was designed for couples, yet has enough power to daze and confuse the haters. :shemademe_smilie::roflblack:

I know what you all are saying about ride what you want and having two Spyders ( I wish ) is not an option for me. But have you every pulled up to a stop light and seen a late model corvette ( or comparable vehicle ), and inside the car is a seasoned person ( I'm trying to be politically correct here without ruffleing any feathers ) ? I told myself I would never become that person !!! Don't get me wrong, seasoned people are a plethera of knowledge with tons of experience, but I don't want the younger generation behind me to point at me and say, whats that old guy doing on that hot looking Spyder ??? And yes, my wife also agrees with Mouthpiece. LOL

I'm in my mid-30's and my first :spyder2: (and first bike) was (and is) the RT. I don't think it's much of an age issue but how you feel. I like the RT because of the radio, looks and the cargo room, in that particular order. And if my wife would have gotten hesitant on buying the :spyder2: altogether, I would have gotten an RS because of the price tag.:shemademe_smilie:

Age is just a state of mind!nojoke :doorag::2thumbs: I've been getting gray hairs for the last 2 years... I just ignore them and cut my hair short!
