• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are there any Longer Handgrips/Handlebar extns available for Spyders?

My first longer trip on the new F3L this weekend and I found the shift controls on the left handgrip were always rubbing against my left thumb while riding. I have bigger/wide hands so even when I had my left hand as far to the outside of the grip as I could go, my thumb would still rub.

Do they make longer grips or handlebar extensions plus longer grips or some other solution to solve this? I have thought that a larger diameter grip might also help.

One issue is that I have the heated handgrips so I assume if I replace the original grips that this would be lost, or is the "heater" for the handgrips part of the handlebar underneath so it will still function if someone changes grips?

Thx

I replaced the GRIPS on my 14 RT and the replacement GRIPS weren't heated. However, they still heat the grips I have now. I recently was looking at grips for a different MTC and there were various lengths for those. I was on E-Bay, & they were sold as a pair; the throttle side is a slightly larger dia. Good luck ...Mike

I wear XL gloves: my hands are larger than many. I usually don't wrap by full hand around the handgrip, unless riding one handed while adjusting something with the cruise control engaged. Hanging on too tightly will fatigue the hand and arm. You may benefit from a larger diameter grip (I always replaced the grips on my H-D with larger diameter ones.) Spyder handlebars are an odd size compared to most motorcycles.

Some of the Spyder aftermarket suppliers have a cover that will slip over the hand grips. I received a set with an order from TricLED; they allegedly work with heated grips, too, although I have not verified that feature. Personally, I don't like the fit after trying them on the F3 - they allow a bit of a gap between the sleeve and the OEM grip near the control cluster. If you would like to try them/own them, pay for postage and I'll send them to you. Anyone else, same deal.

I went with foam overlay grips from SlingMods for my 2019 RTL. They were pretty thick so lost the heated grip function... but that didn't matter as we ended up not riding in the cold anyway in Georgia.
