• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Apple Car Play download initially failed! NOW Finally available....

Little off topic with this, but wanted to forward the info. I purchased two, one directly from the carpuride website and one from Amazon for 2 different bikes. Not sure if you’re in the states, but Amazon has the carpuride 702 right now for $239.99 plus a $30 dollar coupon. And if you do order from the carpuride website, it took about 22 days for me to receive mine.

Thanks for the info, I went ahead and bought the Quadlock since I will be using Maps/Google only to places I need to go to or find….$123.00 for Quadlock and Vibration Dampener.

Just saw on another post where the customer said his BRP dealer said that BRP told them ACP will be out at the end of May! Keep “kicking the can”………

Yep, BRP is a chronological oddity. The ACP software is perpetually two weeks away from being released. I've been hearing this since early February 2024, it's always "coming in the next two weeks", which is obviously a load of horse pucky. They obviously have no idea when or if it'll ever be released and just keep giving out a BS answer to try and placate those of who have spent $30K+ on their bikes based on a lie.

I wonder if they treat Canadian customers the way the treat us. Like you I'm starting to wonder if it ever comes out. They would be respected if they told the truth. They need to fire some CEOs.

I know several people who are considering buying either a Spyder or a Goldwing, and they are reconsidering Spyders after all the Spyder problems.

I’m Canadian. So we are treated no better. Most likely worse as they sell more units in the US than Canada.
My dealer is beyond frustrated. All of the Can Am literature tells you to contact your dealer.
When I talked to my dealer about the failed attempt to download over Wi-Fi, they had no idea it had even been released!

We all feel sorry for the people that did not get what they paid for; BUT, complaining to the rest of us here on Spyder Lovers Forum is not helping your case.

Those of you who have an ample complaint need to take it up with your dealer and BRP, Not Here!

Talking to the dealer or BRP is like talking to a brick wall, utterly pointless. At least here we can get little tidbits of information from each other from time to time.

You think your issue with Apple Car Play is important, take a history lesson about Spyders. Research failed vacuum hoses, DESS failures, Kenda Tires, failed front pulleys, failed left side shift clusters, broken windscreen arms, belt vibrations. Each has bamboozled Can Am dealers, Can Am engineers, and Can Am product support for over a decade and a half.

Apple Car Play not working is similar to the failed BRP Go app. Looks great on paper or when being sold, but fails miserably with no BRP solution.

What BRP has done with Apple Car Play is nothing new, merely same old, same old. Not saying they will get it resolved, but a betting person would push the chips towards it never working correctly, if at all.

Apple CarPlay works great in my Honda, and I use it for navigation every time I drive it.

I wish that my Spyder had the same capabilities, but until it does I have a Garmin Zumo XT GPS that is paired through bluetooth with the Sena 3S Plus I installed in my helmet, so I hear the GPS directions just fine.

I didn't know about those problems, I won't use car play anyway. I wanted the better screen, but those are more important than car play. Seems they have had problems for years. I tried the BRP Go app and it was useless. They don't learn from their mistakes, do they?!

I didn't know about those problems.

And yet we all still enjoy our Spyders!!

I don't understand those that seem to have made ACP their reason for buying a Spyder.

I'm surprised you (and others) didn't research Spyders more before you purchased one.

The latest from Can Am

Hi Rob,

We are working directly with Apple to have the update completed. We did have it issued previously but needed to recall due to an error between Apple programing and the App. They are currently in testing phase to ensure the communication issues between the platforms is non-existent.

We are hoping that the release will be completed really soon. Regretfully at this time we do not have a time frame to share.

If you have any additional questions feel free to reply to this email or contact us at 1-888-272-9222.

Sincerely,
Craig O.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I DID research quite a bit before spending $31,000 of hard earned $$. The BRP event in Atlanta, GA about 8 months ago, (for dealers, & important people only) showed a mockup of the new 2024 handlebars and new dash screen. An IT specialist (Pierre) from BRP (you can find it on YouTube) showed ACP and he went through the buttons to control it, etc. PLUS, there was a short YouTube about the CEO of BRP (or CXX of BRP, can’t remember exactly which) on a big stage in front of an audience announcing the “all NEW ACP” being available on the 2024 model Spyder’s and F3’s. So there you are, research done, but promise(s) not delivered by BRP. I personally don’t think that is right, and if they ran into problems with ACP, they should at least notify the customers who've already bought 2024's about it. Heck, 3 dealers just in my area just during the sale of my Spyder didn’t even know about ACP!!!!! One owner of the dealership, along with his Sale's Manager, even complained to me about the lack of communication between them and BRP!! So what does that say??

Just received an email with Case # similar to yours. So glad at least BRP is letting us know SOMETHING about ACP!!

How do you research ACP and the new screen other than what was released at the press conference and unveiling, when 2024 is the first model year to supposedly get it?

I did research before I bought it and I wanted one whether it had car play or not, just wanted the better screen. I also watched the youtube video of car play.

I didn’t make it the reason I bought a 2024. It was one of many. I paid to have Apple Car Play. It was/is advertised as having it installed. We are upset because we don’t have what we paid for! How would you feel if your Spyder didn’t have Bluetooth, cruise control, heated seats, grips? Pick any one of those - it doesn’t matter which one... If you paid for it, it wasn’t installed, and Can-Am wouldn’t tell you when it will be installed and working, how would you feel?

This is my third Spyder RT so I am quite familiar with them and BRP. I have never had any major issues with my previous Spyders. All promised features worked as expected. Silly me for expecting the same on my 2024.

I only bought the 2024 so I could use ACP as I have just moved to a new part of the country and navigation is a very helpful feature. I could have picked up a 2023 at a significant discount but ACP was important enough *to me* to pay for a 2024. If I had known that ACP wasn't actually available and wouldn't be for this long after my purchase, then I would have walked away from this deal, and just gotten a 2023.

Saw this posted on the Apple support forums from May 4th. Of note is that there is no ETA given at all, not even "by the end of May". Sigh.

Well further update on the screen issues travesty....Yes BRP sent a new cluster to my dealer. Got it installed and cant get it coded to the bike ( requires VIN ) Dealer is now unhappy with BRP now too.

So they sent the file(s) off to BRP to get them to fix it .....may be BRP can remote in to fix it over the 'net. Dunno.... but I am not gonna accept a bike back with screen issues. BRP needs to fix this now..this is not a dealer issue it is a manufacturer issue and incompetence and poor QC.....

Dealer has also mentioned that other BRP products like some of the new 4 wheelers use the exact same screen ....and yes they are having similar problems screen goes blank, issue with BT and WIFI not working as well as ACP not working at all either.

BRP has a major problem and i believe it is a hardware issue with truly faulty parts.
