• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Apple Car Play Compensation

:agree: .... I encounter the same thing with my Sirius XM subscription, when I go to renew it. .... I don't know what the reg. FULL price is, but I have refused to pay more than $ 6.00 per month..... I tell them my FM radio gets better reception, and my MP-3 player gets it perfect .... and it costs SIRIUS - NOTHING - to send me the signal, so I have never paid full price for it ..... Mike

It does cost them royalties though to provide you the service. I too only do the $6/month plan as well :)

If anyone actually takes them up on this offer, be curious to see what the fine print says. I'm guessing they are having you sign away something in order to get the BEST warranty or the $500 credit. Not going to say what that something is, but you can use your imagination :)

I am pretty much resigned to the fact that we aren't getting ACP, not now and not ever. I am getting a convertible to play with for a while that will keep my mind off of the Spyder, but I'm still halfway considering just selling it and washing my hands of this entire fiasco.

I've been riding mine as well, not 9,300 miles worth though. The bike runs fine, but every time I ride it I am reminded of how BRP suckered me into paying for a 2024 with the promise of ACP, when I could have bought a leftover 2023 for thousands less. And now I don't even have the one feature I paid the extra $$$ for. It's left me a just a little bit salty about the whole experience.

Being in Wisconsin, I always take the four or 5 month free SiriusXM streaming service and cancel it. Gets me from June > August/September.

Getting my 24 RTL firmware flashed hopefully next week to resolve my media app not working. Dealer will be given access to level 3 for three hours to do it

So is level 3 = Mechatronic? That is what I'm guessing....

Not sure what its called. Gives them access to the software. Dealer had to download info from my unit on Fri and send it to VRP with vin #

20240603_164808.jpg got my letter today from BRP. I got a third year of BEST coverage as the 24' promotionand thinking ill take another year they are offering. That will give me 4 yrs coverage. I really dont need any access

Yeah got mine today too. Supposed to have gotten 1 year extra for pre-ordering, and I bought 2 more so I should have 5 years coverage now. Will see if I can add a 6th year, if not find some SWAG to purchase for $500. Be more attractive for resale with 6 year extended warranty though :)

Got my letter, too.
Since my dealer didn't offer me BEST coverage, and instead sold me a 3rd party warranty and service contract I guess I'm getting some CAN-AM apparel.

:dontknow:

Got the letter from BRP today. Since a non BRP extended warranty can be had for 3 years for just a bit more than the $500, I am going for a Bluetooth com sys (I believe it will pair with my Garmin Zumo XT-2 and an oil change kit.

I am sure that at some point, they will fix the bugs and ACP will be available.

Almost forgot, I thank BRP for the gift. They did not have to do it.

To anyone who has actually claimed one of the "gifts" from the letter - Do they make you sign anything at time of redemption, such as a legal disclaimer that in exchange for accepting this offer you give up certain other legal rights perhaps? Just curious if there's more to this than meets the eye.

Hopefully BRP will fire the marketing genius that said, "Hey, let's advertise a feature that doesn't even work yet; fake a display to give the impression that it runs smoothly; ship machines that do not have said feature even on/in them yet; and then we can say 'hold my beer' while we fix this!"

I love my F3, but I am really loathing the way this company acts towards its customers. Yeah, a $500 gift (not at a $500 cost to them!) is a somewhat nice olive branch towards the people that fell for this ploy.

It would just be more satisfying to see someone's head roll, and then have them be replaced with someone who actually will provide some truth in advertising. I see too many of these execs get away with this crap, and I don't blame the engineers, as they were probably telling them the whole time that it won't work yet; but you know execs and deadlines. Gotta have that hard date, no matter if it is ready or not.

I was one of the few that actually got the ACP update in April. It worked fine for the limited time I had it. It CAN work. It's more than a mockup. When they pulled the update and rolled it back, I debated on whether I should do that or not. I figured that they must have pulled it for a reason, and didn't want to risk having a firmware failure while on a road trip or anything so I let it install the "downgrade" again to the non-ACP version. Now I'm wishing I had kept the ACP version and if it broke let BRP deal with it. Oh well.

I also received the update but didn't have a choice on the roll back. I rode in to get a haircut with it working and when I started to leave it was gone.

There are many of us that bought into the BRP Connect fiasco in 2018. We were offered nothing but silence from BRP. The dealer network couldn't fix anything as they were apparently in the dark also. If there was (real) competition in a reverse trike configuration, BRP would need to actually hire an in-house software contingent instead of outsourcing the project. It must be outsourced, with incompetent oversight, to end up with 6 years and counting of trying to implement an on-board system.

Weird. It would have had to connect to WiFi somehow even if the push was set to not require your interaction. Mine just said "Update Available" and listed 2.1.0 but I had the choice to install it or not at the time. Maybe later they made it mandatory and not skippable.

Sorry, I thought you were saying that the uninstall was optional.

It was for me. 2.1.1 was the version that enabled ACP. Later that day when I checked for updates again, 2.1.0 was listed as an "update" but it did not call out ACP as a feature so I presume this is the same firmware as the bike shipped with.

Fortunately I took pictures during this ordeal :)

Here's the 2.1.1. release that enabled ACP:

And then later in the day, this version showed up (2.1.0) and is the one that removed ACP. I had the opportunity to not install 2.1.0 but figured they released this due to bugs in 2.1.1 and I let it do the install knowing that I would lose ACP again.
