There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone replaced the OEM antenna with a Short antenna? How is the reception?

Ok I'm still looking into the speaker issue but had anyone replaced the OEM antenna with a short stubby antenna and if so how was the reception?? Thanks

I bought the "shorty antenna" from Custom Dynamics" and used it Tuesday on a trip where I was about 50 miles from a local radio station before I got any signal loss. :2thumbs:

that one works good. I have the one from stubb antenna that works good for me. they come with two adaptors.

The WalMart shorty worked fine for me when I lost the OEM. Still have it "on the shelf" in the garage, just in case.

It figures, that I'd be the "Odd Duck" on this one...
I tried the Shortee that Custom Dynamic sells...
The reception was noticeabley poorer, than with the OEM antenna.
However: I live here in the Mountains; so reception is always an "iffy" thing around here...

I went back to the OEM "longstick", and haven't regretted it...

Good point Bob. The Custom Dynamic's antenna works great for me. But I live in an area that the altitude changes are calculated by inches. :ohyea:

:yes:I just broke off my antenna, when i bent it over to put the cover on it! DON'T MAKE MY SAME MISTAKE, I GUESS THEY ARE MEANT TO BEND THAT FAR! The fiberglass snapped off just above the attachment nut, which I cannot get loose. I stopped trying, until I'm sure it is suppose to come off, I don't want to break something else, I'm good at that! Anyway, if I get it apart, I may try the stubby mentioned from WalMart, that hopefully is not so delicate, and I'll post my outcome! Good luck on your choice!
