It figures, that I'd be the "Odd Duck" on this one...
I tried the Shortee that Custom Dynamic sells...
The reception was noticeabley poorer, than with the OEM antenna.
However: I live here in the Mountains; so reception is always an "iffy" thing around here...
I went back to the OEM "longstick", and haven't regretted it...
Website and model please??Bought a Wal mart stubby. Broke in half easily. Bought one fron Discount Auto Parts. Worked perfectly.
Ok I'm still looking into the speaker issue but had anyone replaced the antenna with a short stubby antenna and if so how was the reception?? Thanks
:yes:I just broke off my antenna, when i bent it over to put the cover on it! DON'T MAKE MY SAME MISTAKE, I GUESS THEY ARE MEANT TO BEND THAT FAR! The fiberglass snapped off just above the attachment nut, which I cannot get loose. I stopped trying, until I'm sure it is suppose to come off, I don't want to break something else, I'm good at that! Anyway, if I get it apart, I may try the stubby mentioned from WalMart, that hopefully is not so delicate, and I'll post my outcome! Good luck on your choice![/QUOTE........................:yikes:...With the mast gone put a 7 mm socket down there and vise grips on it and you should get it loose......you might want to squirt some " break-away " or something similar on it first..........................good luck......Mike
