There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Anyone NOT happy with NMN risers

OK, all I'v heard about NMN risers is good. I am going to get a set and want to know if there is a good reason not to. I have been riding the Spyder now for just over two months on a daily baises. I do get a pain in the back right between the shoulder blades.
Do you think the risers will help this.
Anyone with info, good or bad, lets hear it

I used to get a very sharp pain in my right shoulder after 30 minutes or so until I got the No Magic Neon risers. I love 'em! :2thumbs:

'Possible' negatives:

1. Have to buy new bars if you want to reverse it.

2. Knowing you can futher adjust it may cause you to want to tweak it a lot. I'm like that - carried tools with me for weeks making slight adjustments to get it 'perfect' - but I always wonder if 'I can get it a touch better'.

Other than that - no negatives. I love the black - look really sharp.

I bought an angle gauge at Harbor freight so I could get them even.

Overall - just a great mod.

I too used to get a pain in between my shoulder blades, almost a burning sensation and also my wrists hurt. It was from all the pressure exerted on my arms and back due to my riding position. Ever since I have had the risers, I am riding pain free. I just do not have anything negative to say about them.

I was having my hands go numb and pain in my wrists from leaning forward so much. Pain is gone after installing the 4 inchers.

And,yes the black ones are nice.

After 7 hours in the saddle on Saturday my upper back was really getting to me.

I am considering the black 3" risers but worry that they won't work with my current set-up with the speakers on the handlebars.

Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like you may have to consider the KewlMetal bars as an alternative, if you need space to clamp things. As another alternative, maybe you can use NMN's RAM mounts and adapt the speakers to the RAM system.

I have the 4" risers and LOVE them! Much more comfortable riding position for me.

However, after my husband installed the risers, I had a perfect view in my mirrors of my gloved hands! Over the winter, he custom made mirror extension which brought my mirrors out and up a bit -- PERFECT!!

Other than that, the risers are a must-have for me!

No on the earbuds (I need to be able to hear my intercom in my helmet) and no on the Kewlmetal bars (YUCK!!). I'll have to have Evan take a look at my set-up while we are in LA and tell me yes or no. I am thinking yes, but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks for the input.

Here is my set-up:

I love being able to hear the Garmin and the MP3 player through these. Works great, even at freeway speed. And I can still hear my intercom quite clearly.

How tall are those speakers? Could you leave the bar a little long and mount them to the outside of the risers?

:2thumbs: That is the beauty of the NMN risers as you don"t have to cut the bar ends off right away because the risers clamp onto the original handle bars [ it might look a little funny ] Once you are happy with the set-up and the risers are working for you ,then cut of the stubs.

 Cool setup SpyderGirl.
Is it an Ipod system through an amp or what :dontknow:

I was thinking something similar. They are 4" speakers. I was thinking I could also flip the mounting brackets to point back and mount the speakers a little differently. I am sure I can make it work... I need to make it work. I don't think I am going to make it on our cross-country trip without them.

You can hook up a XM radio, iPod, MP3 player, Garmin to it through an amp mounted in the trunk. I use the Garmin and my iPod. Works great. A lot of people have been asking about it lately and I am going to try to post up details on the system this weekend. I go to school weeknights Monday through Thursday and work Monday through Friday during the day.

That would be good. I'd like to see how you have set it up :D

SpyderGirl, I would make sure you have a little extra money before you purchase. I have been know to sometimes be a little clairvoyant and just have this strong feeling that you may need some extra $$ for a truck tire and dancing leasons. lol
Nice set-up BTW.
