• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone NOT happy with NMN risers

Here is my set-up: YouTube - UNiQ Cycle Sounds on Spyder

I love being able to hear the Garmin and the MP3 player through these. Works great, even at freeway speed. And I can still hear my intercom quite clearly.

Where's the subwoofer fit? ;)

Seriously, SpyderGirl, you can gain 3" (or 4" if you use the BRP 1" also) using the riser I installed last week -

They show bare aluminum, but I got black anodized, just have to ask. Extremely easy install, and I love the new riding position, steering authority and loss of back/shoulder pain. All bar components remain stock so your speakers would be safe where they are now.

After 7 hours in the saddle on Saturday my upper back was really getting to me.

I am considering the black 3" risers but worry that they won't work with my current set-up with the speakers on the handlebars.

Any thoughts on this?
Take a look at the risers from Spyder City, works with or without the BRP 1" riser.

Put a set on the Spyder and they did not move the bars back enough. Hight is great, however if you are wanting to move the bars back, closer to you, this may not be the riser for you. I changed over to the Heli unit and they did what I needed. I now have a set of 4" risers installed on the handlebar for sale. I had to buy new handlebars when I installed the Heli unit.

Installed mine two days ago. I like the fact that I can see much more in my mirrors now. My only complaint is that they have poor quality control. One of my risers looks like a burr got caught in the milling machine bit and has nasty scratchs on half of it. Also had to ream one of the holes out because of burrs left in the spot you put the new handle bar bolt. I guess I should have ordered black and they may have paid alittle more attention to detail.:(

I too used to get a pain in between my shoulder blades, almost a burning sensation and also my wrists hurt. It was from all the pressure exerted on my arms and back due to my riding position. Ever since I have had the risers, I am riding pain free. I just do not have anything negative to say about them.

:agree:

That I didn't get them sooner!:gaah:

john

+1

I don't really need the risers as I was plenty comfortable with the BRP 1" riser but they do make the ride nicer and improve the feel of handling the Spyder.

...want to know if there is a good reason not to. ...

This is one of the few accessories that the vast majority of Spyder owners say

"Why didn't BRP think of this??!"

In my top 5 along with

-Highway brackets/pegs
-mirror extensions
-CHAD windshield
-BRP backrest

Thanks for all the input everyone.
I have decided to pay the dollars and order a set on Monday. :2thumbs:

I am really interested in risers. My hands & wrists get numb when riding after a half hour or so. My big question is height. Im 5'8", 175 lbs..would a 4 in be better? Also..I live where there are a lot of twisties and mountainous road..and I do tend to ryde aggressively:doorag:..Would a 4 in. affect that? I do like the way the nmn risers can be tilted.
