Anyone have AAA or comprable service for emergencies? Have they been able to support the Spyder? We called to get some information, but the support person didn't know what Can Am was, much less a Spyder. I know information depends on who you talk to, so I figured the folks on this forum would be the best sourcenojoke

Looked into AAA several Months a go. In Ohio, only the premium policy covered motor cycles and RV's. Better idea... Open a special saving account and every time you purchase something and are offered an extended warrantee for a fee or motor club, Put that cash in YOUR account and you will retire a much wealthier person. $60.00 month = $720.00 year X 40 years = $28800.00 and that's just for AAA. I've only needed 3 or 4 tows in the last 50years.hyea:

I have AAA RV coverage. Just ask for the RV coverage then they should know what it is. It covers the Spyder. (at least that is what I was told) I have never used it but it is good to have for Auto's and RV's. :2thumbs:

I use the base AAA service only, If I added the Spyder (a motorcycle) plus my Camper (an RV), plus coverage for my wife, I would need a new mortgage to cover all the charges!

Take a look at Good Sam's road service as it includes all of the above at a fair price...

Sound like the fees definitely differ from state to state. It's $120 for my first year with the $15 first time fee. I'll have to check out Good Sam too.

I have good sam and had to use it on friday. Forgot to turn lights out on truck at medical clinic and had a dead battery, came right away and started truck.Was happy with service

We have had AAA forever and have worked out well. Covers all my vehicles or any I happen to be driving. Will tow 100 miles. Discounts in most hotels theme parks attractions etc. It's worth it in savings on travel alone. As you know who comes out will depend on where you are. Just make sure you ask for a flat bed and they know how to deal with the spyder..if not it's in the manual...:thumbup:

That's what I paid for AAA in NYS. It includes 1 tow for 200 miles and 3 at 100 miles. I have the premier/rv plan. There is no coordination of benefits between AAA and the BEST warranty roadside assistance; I did check on that. The $200 reimbursement under the BEST doesn't get you very far.

You can use it on anyone's vehicle as long as you are there.

Got AAA Premier (to cover Spyder) last year. It covers my Toyota Avalon, Solara, Spyder and my wife's included. Less than $171 / year here in Kansas City. It includes one tow up to 200 miles and (if I'm reading it right) unlimited tows up to 100 miles (benefits don't have a number of tows assigned like the 200 mile one does).

I have AAA motorcycle coverage for both our Spyders but because of something someone posted last year on Spyderlovers, I called AAA to check on Spyder towing availability. Obviously to tow a Spyder they will need to have a slant back (sometimes call a roll back) winch loading truck as opposed to a regular tow truck.

What I found was that the service from AAA varies by region. Our region uses companies that have the slant back models for the most part but I was cautioned that in some parts of Tennessee and North Carolina it depends on who they route to you for the emergency call.... it is possible they may show up with something that can't tow a Spyder.

I decided to roll the dice and kept my membership.

my Premier is 1 tow up to 200 and 5 tows up to 100, not unlimited. Also have a different line to call, and given a rental for, gosh can't remember, I think 1-2 days while in the shop.

Same here. I bought it soon after I purchased my Spyder. I discovered State Farm would not cover towing on my bike.

I have the AAA coverage and used. It to have my Goldwing. Trike towed to my home a few years ago. They just hauled it on a flatbed! No problem!
