• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone ever thought of Fender Mounted mirrors??

Has anyone ever thought of mounting F-1 (or similar) mirrors on the front fenders of an F-3? I have a bit of a time seeing through my stock mirrors due to the re-positioning of my bars and the addition of "stuff" on to the bars (phone, drink holder,etc). I've been looking for a way to maybe raise the location of the stock mirror mounts (which might involve some fabrication), so I thought that an alternative might be to mount a pair of mirrors somewhere forward of the handlebars that would be practical. Race cars and muscle cars gave me the idea to mount them in a forward position, and the fenders seem to be a good place... Just wondering if anyone here has done it (or thought about it)??

Mirrors mounted that far away from your face will need to be pretty big to be of any use. And they'll only work when you're not driving as the vibration will render them useless. Other than these 2 hurdles. You'll be fine!

won't work when you are turning.
OH! And this one as well might give you issues.

Maybe try bar end mirrors like the Ryker has? Came across this while back, not sure if it's actually a product

Also saw someone had attached blind spot mirrors to their windshield. Vibration's gonna be an issue with them. Good luck in your quest.

The front fenders are un-sprung and move with the front wheels over road surface un-eveness. I doubt you could find mirrors thart would stay on.
 
On my past F3S, I used both bar mounted mirrors and handlebar mounted mirrors using Lamonster Top Cuffs. On the handlebar mirrors, I also used mirror extenders. I stuck with the handlebar/extender mirrors, as I would often bump into the bar end mirrors.

There is a company that makes windshield mounted mirrors. They're often seen on sport bikes, but they have a couple of different styles.

I like this idea. I hate the mirrors on my 2024 RT because they're just too low. If I could find a panel to cover the area, I'd just remove them entirely. I wonder if something could be made with a 3D printer?

Where did you get the curved mirror extenders? That looks like a good idea.

I struggled a bit with the mirrors until I added the Lamonster handlebar riser. That opened them up a bit. They still seem a bit low, but I get full view out them since that install.
 
The RT mirrors are part of the wind protection scheme (same as on my Beemer R1150RT). I got used to the Beemer mirrors, so using the Spyder RT mirrors was kind of like second nature as soon as I slid onto the saddle. If you make the effort to get used to them, you might find that you actually like them. I have mine adjusted so that I can just barely see the lane directly behind me in the inside edge of the mirror. This gives me a pretty wide field of view, enough that a quick turn of my head is sufficient to confirm it's safe to change lanes.
 
As stated by previous responders, the distance from rider and vibration would be quite the obstacle to overcome.
 
I think the real solution is for CanAm to add a rear facing camera that stays on all the time (not just when backing up as it is on most cars) and a larger screen on the dash that would display the camera's image. Technically would not be difficult for the engineers to add it to the design of the Spyders.

I think things are getting a little over thought on mirrors!
Why not a self navigated Spyder with a big screen TV so you can watch a movie!
I love mine the way it is!

Just get a GoPro! You can use your phone as the display.
