• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any way to get around the Start up safety message?

I did as baxter posted above until I got the ECU flashed by Monster Fuel and had them eliminate the step that required the mode button to avoid. Now, just turn on, put my foot on the brake and it fires right up. I'll have to admit it's nice to not even have to mess with it and just get on down the road. I have my Spyder detailed at a local detail shop once a year and it took forever to teach the detailer how to start it so he could move it into the bay to wax and shine.

I'll have to do some more checking to verify things, but this is what I just experienced. If the bike has been sitting not running for at least 15 minutes it will not start until the safety message comes up. However, if I restart the bike within about 5 minutes of shutting it off, pushing mode immediately after turning on the key lets me start it right away. And for some odd reason my bike once in awhile will start without waiting for the safety message. But normally I have to wait for the safety message before I can start. I usually use that waiting time to put on my jacket, helmet, and gloves.

heres a good laugh, when mine got delivered, guy went over everything with me, so he left, well i turned the key on, hit start button and nothing, could not get it to start, there i sat thinking WTF.. so i went to utube, yep there it was, i had to hit the mode button, so i got it started,,whoohoo... then i had to back it out of the garage, i pushed reverse button, no reverse,, back to utube, there it was, have to hold reverse button while hitting paddle shifter back also.. lol... so i backed it out of garage , and ive had a smile on my face since day one, love this thing, dont miss my 1500 vulcan... cant wait for spring so i can ride again, it really puts a smile on my face, the 2 wheeler did not do that anymore.........

Idaho That is built into 2014's (starting within 10 min or so) so you don't have to wait for the start-up procedure after fueling up (I think it's in the operator manual). I don't have to push the mode button, just turn key to on, hold brake pedal and start up. Of course this works each time you only shut down for less than 10 minutes, perhaps this is when you can start it once in awhile.

Thanks for the correction. I haven't ridden it since October so forgot the exact sequence! ;)

Now....... if I can just remember how to shift gears............... :dontknow:

:roflblack:

My 2017 F3T starts when my foot is on the brake, turn the key on, hit the mode button immediately, then the start button. Doesn't matter how long it's been shut down.

Brand X ? ?

The is one way to bypass the start sequence. Sell the Spyder. Buy a Honda.

Yes, I know of three people who went that way.
Like anything that is made for a Safety Issue, we must have a little more patience. ......

Hope you have a Blessed Day My Friend. .....

2014 Rts, any way to get around this in the menu? Royal pain waiting for it to boot up seems like it takes forever lol.
I know about the safety card I have read it numerous times why do I have to be reminded all the time. Maybe someone has a hack work around? New to spyders just trying to learn.

Try pushing "Mode" button on left hand control module imediately after starting up. It works on RT Spyders, don't know if RTS has this feature.

I don't remember now which year it was changed, but for 2015 and earlier there is no starting up until AFTER the mode button is pushed, and that doesn't work until the safety notice is gone. Your 2018 has the no-delay start.
