• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Ideas on locking back tire to trailer floor?

Hi folks, y'all did a great job on suggesting how to lock the front tires in place in my new to me enclosed trailer.
I went with the E-Trailer 7 inch wide that locks to the floor with x-track.
Any suggestions for locking the rear tire in a Similar way?
 
Do you intend on rolling the thing over?? If you have the front down, don't know if it's necessary to lock the back down!!
 
Have had occasions on rough roads, where the hind end of the Spyder would do a little hop from side to side. Using a strap, as per the owners manual, works for me.

I ONLY use the rear tire as the tie-down point .... I put a rachet strap over the tread ( in-line ) and secure in the front and back of the tire .... I've been in three monoe accidents and my Spyder has never moved ..... good luck .... Mike :thumbup:
 
Mike, do you happen to have a picture of that sir!

I have a few pics in an album " securing spyder in trk " .... click on BLUEKNIGHT911 and then go to my Albums .... it show my H.M. chocks for the front wheels and how three rear tire is secured .... I discovered this method about 8 years ago and reported it on this Forum .... but I won't claim all the credit, that goes to " U-Haul " .... I saw one of their " car tow dollies " and this is the method they use .... I then learned that, professional " high end " car haulers use this method Exclusively when transporting veh's.. I figure if it's it good enough for a 10 million $ Ferrari. it will good enough for my Spyder ..... it's great also because the ONLY contact area is the tire TREAD ..... good luck .... I would use 2 straps on either side of the bike. I use the rear footpegs on each side to strap to. This way the bike does not hop to the side on rough roads. I never strap to the rear tire.

I have an Acebike TyreFix that goes over the tire and then gets strapped down to whatever. Seems to be quality. Comes out of the Netherlands. To me it is easier, to me, than having to run straps through the tire etc.
 
I've got an open trailer but quite sure you can do what I did. Just bolt two I-bolts on each side of the trailer and run a strap around the wheel to each bolt and cinch tight.. I've totted my Spyder thousands of miles on my trailer and it never moves.. the front tires are the same against some wheel chocks..
