• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone know the part number and cost for the BRP short antenna?
I believe these came out with the 2016 models. I just shapped mine off and do not want to replace it with the long one that it came with.

Update,

I found it on Cheapcycleparts.

Antenna - 710005084 for $57.99

Wow that ain't cheap. You can get a shortly a lot cheaper than that at Walmart.

I will be checking that out for sure. Good thing I don't listen to the radio so I have time to find a cheap fix. To bad BRP doesn't sale the little cover for the hole as I would than just plug it.

New antenna with better range and much more solid, Just got this from Spyderpops and it comes with a new style boot that won't fly off and works with half or full cover without breaking, what do you think, looks good don't it?

about $25.00 shipped to you

HI, I got my short antenna(part # 710005084)and 2 antenna bases from Pitbull.

Short antenna..............................$57.99 and 2 antenna bases ( $15.99 each). I have a 2014 RTS-SE6, see pictures:New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 001.jpg New Radio Antenna on 2014RTS-SE6 002.jpg

Look at "My Album". I replaced my original last month. It took me about 5 minutes to change out the original.......long antenna. I did not use lock tite. The radio stations are clear. Deanna

Rubber shorty can be purchased at Walmart for under $20. Comes universal with plenty adapters. Works just fine.

Hi Joe,
You've mentioned the reception several times now...
Since I get ZERO reception with my OEM setup: can you please explain how much better it pulls in stations, than your OEM antenna did?
(If that is in fact the case... )
Thanks! :D

I've been fighting with my OEM reception since the day I brought the bike home... It's down to either a bad antenna, or a bad receiver...

Or?......

Have you checked your hearing? No offense, but as we get more mature, sometimes.......
(That's why I type bigger, so everybody can hear!)

I bought a small rubber antenna from walmart at cost of 10.00 CDN. I find that it woks better than long stock antenna.

Just a question, how long is the "long stock antenna"

I know the one I have is a pain when getting the covers on and off the bike

You have a short (compared to older models) antenna, the original is about twice as long

... what? :D
My ears are fireproof, bombproof, and ready for War! nojoke
As I was listening to some "light music" from Yngwie Malmsteen today (look him up...), I heard every note that his guitar played...

Seriously: I DO have a reception problem, and am wondering if it's worth spending $25, to see if a new antenna might solve it.

If and when you get a new (shorty) antenna DON'T use any locktite on it. Had to cut off my wife's antenna to get a socket onto it to get it out. Was locked in there tight!.

(her bike has always had a reception problem) Cleaned out a crap load of blue locktite from the threads. Screwed in a Walmart shorty in without any locktite and took it for a ride, it had to have doubled the reception distance for her.

Now ordering one of the Spyderpops antennas to see if it increases distance even more.
