• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Antenna Broke Off

On my 2012 RTS the antenna broke off at the base and the rubber plug also came off. Can I just put the antenna back on or do I need new parts? Looks like the fiberglass just snaped off at the base.

Just went through the same thing although I think mine had some help in the parking lot of the hotel . Replacement it the way to go. I went with a short one off ebay because it was way cheaper than OEM

I parked too close to the garage door.. snapped off

I just drilled out the fiberglass and then trimmed the ragged edge with an emery wheel making sure to leave the metal wire exposed. Then a little epoxy and overnight cure, and as far as I can tell, as good as new. Just my fix, but I'm more aware of how the antenna sticks out now..

Walmart

Mine broke off at the same place a few days ago (2012 RTS). I bought a Scosche RMA900 replacement shorty antenna at Walmart ($8.95), unscrewed the old base, screwed in the adaptor and the new antenna, and it's perfect. I put the rubber sleeve (I assume that's what you meant by "plug") back over the bottom to fill in the hole; I had to cut two slits on opposite sides of the small original hole to let it fit over the thicker shorty antenna, but it wasn't a problem. Took about 10 minutes at most. You can do a forum search on Scosche antenna and find several threads with more details, including what to do if you can't unscrew the original base. You'll need a 7-mm deep socket for that, by the way. Good luck!

If you decide to go with a replacement, the rubber duckie from WM is good. I did that when mine fell out due to lack of locktite at assembly time.

Since the new one was replaced under warranty, I now have a rubber duckie standing by just in case the need for a new antenna happens again.

When I put on the rubber sleeve I linded up the sleeve and pushed it in my place now do I turn it to the left or right and how much

Mine broke on my RT 2012 LTD also. Tried the Walmart rubber ducky but reception poor hear. Got a auto antenna [most US vehicles use same antennas] from the junk yard, out of five wrecked vehicles, three had the same antennas. Run a 6mm tap over existing thread and works and looks great and the best part no charge. They come in silver or black and will never break again. Good luck.

Short Antenna replacement

I replaced my original antenna ( it broke because I was putting on the 1/2 cover) with a short antenna ( from Pitbull) and the rubber boot ( also from Pitbull). I used a 7mm deep socket wrench. It took me about 10 minutes to install. I have a 2014RTS-SE6.

Mine did the same thing 3 years ago, I get better reception now than ever!!!!!!!!!!!! I just glued a piece of the fiberglass wanf to the rubber boot and put the boot back on. There is no connection now between the fiberglass wand and the base byt the base is still OK!!!

looking at the pic of your dash made me wonder if anyone makes a cover
for the ignition switch hole to cover when the key is out or raining or
a bunch of other reasons. they seem to make every thing else.
