• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another soon to be newbie question

Any suggestions on must carry tools/or emergency equipment? Sorry for all the questions just want to be 100% ready to :riding:

Figure out what size the torx bit is for removing panels, other than that, just the basics, couple screwdrivers, pliers, adjustable wrench, tire plug/inflate kit, maybe a vise grip, elec tape, zip ties. Obviously ya can't take everything, and chances are what you need you won't have. A clean credit card is the best thing to have along. Just do a thorough check before ya venture off and have faith.

:agree:
Torx bits for the "usual suspects"
Hex keys for the others.
Several flashlights (One will also have dead batteries)
10, 12, 13 and 15 mm sockets
A small set of Vise-Grips
A small air compressor and tire patch kit
An accurate air gauge

And of course: A Platinum MasterCard!

Thanks for the reply

Being a noob I had the same question awhile back. I found that if you have the standard kit that comes with it about all your going to need is a pair of pliers a small crescent wrench, rag and a good small LED flashlight you can hold in your teeth. It will roll into the tool kit better than the head mounted one (space is everything). Like someone else sad, your not going to do much repair work on the road and what comes in the kit will help in the driveway with about any maintenance an owner can do.

Please recommend the name and size of an air compressor that will inflate my tires. Preparing for about an 1800 mile trip soon. Thanks. Jim

If space is an issue I recommend getting a flat tire kit ( or just the cartridges ) that has Co-2 cartridges to fill the tire. They are much smaller, reliable, cheap, don't weigh much etc........................jmho...............Mike

Slime makes about the best one that I've ever used. I got it 10 years ago, to carry in my Yamaha Grizzly ATV, and it STILL works great!

I also carry personal power supply kit. You can boost vehicles, charge any portable device and run a laptop off it if you want.
It has all sorts of adapters, a built in flashlight in the kit. You can recharge the power pack on a 12 volt or 11o volt cicuit. I
charge mine up about 3 or 4 times a year.
Small and portable, it's called Anti-Gravity or something like that. Got it on Amazon.

Add a pack of fuses and breakers as well as a small container of blue locktite. If its minor, you are probably covered. It its major, it will be tow time.

Additional tool

WARNING: cheap ad plug contained in this message!;):roflblack:

One smart phone with the ever helpful Spyder Codes app installed and running.
