• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another question about fuel tank capacity

It wouldn't be the first time that a manufacturer's marketing department "wrote" the specs for something without taking a peek at the truth first... :gaah::roflblack:

Talking about mileage, my experience may be counter to others.
I find I get about 30 to 32 MPG on 87 octane.
I only get about 26 on 92 octane
I average around 28 on 89 octane.

Don't flame me. But since I get more mileage on cheaper gas.....87 it is from now on.
The operating manual allows for 87 octane and I don't really notice any lack of performance.

And smart you are for choosing 87! It's a myth that "higher octane = better performing vehicles." Instead, the truth is "better performing vehicles need higher octane gas." If your engine runs on 87, paying for higher octane is a waste of money.

My GF drives a turbo that requires premium... she's HATING life right now. I'm not :D.

I did something bad the other day-- I rode it down to "no bars" on the guage at the end of a sightseeing trip. I was on the highway, too. I don't get nervous at one bar, I know the Spyder's got plenty of reserve once the low fuel light comes on, but the pucker factor increases DRAMATICALLY once that last bar disappears. I immediately took the next exit, knew there was a gas station there, but I know that for long multi-state road trips, I'm packing my Reda just for the peace of mind

fuel capacity

I do what someone said in an earlier post. Fill up at 3 bars, start to get worried at 2 bars, go into a full panic mode at 1 bar with the low fuel light on (even though I realize I have approx 1 1/2 gal left). Bottom line is mileage plus gallons used equals FUN FACTOR

And...
(How many gallons did your Spyder take on that fillup??)
Hahaha, c'mon Bob, you think I care enough to keep track? What am I, some sort of hyper-miler? :joke:

I ride until I need gas. I fill it up to the top when I do. Rinse, repeat, smile.

It might be Semantics, But the Spyders gas tank only holds 6 liquid gal, The .6 is air, So unless the Spyder can run on .6 air after the first 6 gals are used up, It's a 6 gal gas tank.:dontknow:
