An interesting LED safety idea

While at GoldWing's WingDing in Billings, MT. I saw this idea:

The price is $250 which I think is too high. A replacement push button switch is $115, which is IMO out of line.

I think the idea is a good one.

What I'm thinking that using these on any bike, would make you more visible. If they are amber you shouldn't have any issues as for cops. I saw the actual units and straight on they are bright. In many ways these are like using a headlight modulator. Anything to be better seen, is my idea.

Won't fly here in Cali either, doesn't matter the color. If it is flashing it isn't legal. Just like idiots that drive with their flashers on, it isn't legal and will get you a ticket....

Wouldn't fly in WI either. Those are nothing more than simple LEDs that can be had for far less than that price from Galls. Being a driver of Fire and EMS apparatus, white/clear up front, is pretty much all that gets anyone's attention in the daylight, and it has to be BRIGHT and flashing.

I think it might be illegal in some states. Some states get real picky about lighting like that. I know the state patrol in Washington would have field day with something like that.

Red or of course blue strobe lights will get most of us in trouble.

I have had an idea for sometime to have LED white strobe lights not only on the front but on both sides of a bike....warn people you are coming and also when going through intersections...both high crash zones.

Just dont know how to wire up a flashing stobe. Anything to be seen !
