There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. American Trike magazine

Latest issue of American Trike magazine compared the Spyder to four other "conventional" trikes. It came in number four, with a somewhat mixed review. Biggest gripes-"twitchy steering" and "cramped cockpit". The five riders agreed it was not a good comparison to the conventional trikes, due to it's being the most technologically advanced. They did like the speed, braking and the frunk.

the Spyder is a three wheeled, crotch rocket; that is designed for luxury and adrenaline. it is NOT a conventional trike... and it does NOT ride like a conventional trike.

you tell me what Gold Wing or Ultra-Classic.. has a COCKPIT.

but at least it is being reviewed. and that's a good thing...

Reviews are good... whether they're favorable or not... most two-wheeler reviewers are less likely to appreciate the Spyder... no problem... it is the wave of the future!! With, or without, them... ;)

Wait... compared to a conventional trike, the *Spyder* is twitchy??

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Whew, sorry, lost it there for a sec.

One would think the writers of "American Trike" magazine would be familiar with the head shake and bump steering of conventional trikes. Guess not.

Elkas

I can remember my first ride and then my second Spyder the RT and without Elkas I was not a happy camper. The 08 GS first rides By BRP's test drives had me swaying side to side going down the road. I asked if the shocks could be adjusted but no one did. I am sure a lot walked away not liking the Spyder. I am glad I stuck around, thank you Elka!!!

American Trike is a new magazine(on it's second issue, I believe) and it came packaged with the Sept issue of Baggers magazine.

Twitchy you say!!!

Heck NOW I know why I am soooo in luv with my Spyder...she is twitchy...I've been called twitchy (don't sit still very long) for years....we are a match made in HEAVEN..:roflblack::roflblack::thumbup:

Cockpit?!?!:dontknow::dontknow: Somebody please point out where the cockpit on a bike is because I missed that part in the MSF course...

No kidding!!! I test rode a HD Trike and I felt every single bump on the road and twitched like a bad case of hunger!!! This sounds like "American Trike" is written by a bunch of wanna-bes!!:lecturef_smilie:

If they only rode it around the block, with a white-knuckle grip, and no one to tell them how, I can understand "twitchy". Hope they come here for instructions before they try again.nojoke

I have not read the article mentioned--as I don't subscribe to that magazine.

There have been some previous posts that also rated the :spyder2: badly in comparison to what they were comparing.

IMO: Bad ratings were based on unfamiliarity with the :spyder2:. A few magazines tested them on longer trips and when the testers got past the learning curve--good things were said about the :spyder2:.

BRP actually missed a chance (much earlier post)--for good ink--when they would not supply a :spyder2: to a magazine for comparison tests with two other trikes.

Considering the source, and the fact that the testers probably did not put big miles on them--I would not worry about coming in fourth.

Baggers magazine....?

Is this a magazine dedicated to employees at a grocery store...?
I was a semi dedicated "leaner" until the weight became a problem......a Triumph Trident is no lightweight'
Personally, I found that my spyder is all I ever expected from a bike....but you do have to get used to it first.
Twitchy.....?....'tis if'n you don't relax. I'd rather Ryde than drive any day.
Take the review and the periodical for what they're worth....you can't argue with dumb and ignorant.

Yikes! I seem to have hit a nerve here. Sounds like some reverse Harley mentality(if ain't a Spyder, it ain't worth ridin') amongest the group. What happened to "it doesn't matter what you ride, but that you do that counts"? The main writer had actually ridden a Spyder before and enjoyed it for what it is. The five bikes were taken for a small road trip and not just around the block. A review by several riders in a publication hardly constitutes a "piece of crap rag".

Yep, I call it Twitchy too

Twitchy is exactly what I called mine shortly after getting it and I still say that after 4000 miles. Twitchy for me is the steering is too quick; open road is fine, mountian curves where corrections need to be made in the turn and the road surface is not perfectly smooth, its hard not to oversteer, what with machine moving, body leaning, etc. I'd just like a not so quick reaction to the slightest movement of the bars. Otherwise I love the SOB!

We rode to Spokane last year and are going again this year. Its real hard to follow when you are ona leader. 2 wheelers, get out of the way. Twitchy??? Only when I take percoset before I ryde. Love my :spyder2:. Have a fury also but would rather ryde twitchy.

I did suscribe to Bagger when they first came out. As far as they were concerned there was only one bagger bike out there Harleys. It was so biassed that I stopped reading it after the second issue. After that just toosed them in the trash. So if the trike magazine came with the bagger then I know not to waste my money on it.:duh:

twitch

I have never ridin' a "regular" trike, but I agree with the spyder being Twitchy....extremely twitchy the first 2000 miles and not nearly as bad now after 3500. I am rather large and cranked up the stock shocks which has helped the rolling.

I am starting to love it now.
