• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TIRE PRESSURE

I have the same size in a Michelin....and because it has much stiffer side-walls I run mine ( on an RT ) one up at 21lbs cold.....The pressure goes up a bit as it heats up.............Car tires should not be run at higher PSI because they were designed for a much heavier vehicle.................JMHO.....Mike

^^ Wot 'e says!!

The more the tire is bigger than the standard size, the greater the volume of air encompassed inside it, but the load on it hasn't changed.... so for a bigger tire (or a more robustly constructed tire designed to carry bigger loads in the first place) you generally need LESS air inside it to carry the same load. ;)

I am thinking of getting that tire for my F3S....
i am interested in feed back as well...

It looks like a great choice for an RT. Not so sure I would want one on my F3. The F3 is pretty traction challenged as it is and going to a narrower 600 treadwear rating tire is GOING to reduce available traction. But then again, you may be fine with that.

I am looking at going with a Yokohama again or a Toyo performance tire for the added traction. I am actually getting better life from the Kenda than I did on the 2013 editions but will not buy them. I do not buy 'made in china' tires. Period. Well as long as I can get something else.

Altimax RT43

I put this tyre on last year. Runs and rides great at 26psi. Nice bonus having an accurate speedo too. ;)

So what I am getting here is I should drop from 28 to 26psi for the altimax? For some reason being stiffer I would need to go the other way to 30psi. Thats why I read these forums, to make some sort of 'educated' decision.

mounting this tire

Just for grins, I checked out this tire on Amazon to see the reviews there. I found only one. To wit:

"I bought this for the single back tire to a Can Am Spyder RT and it works very well. It was a little difficult to install due to the 1/2" narrower bead, but once on and aired up I am very pleased with it."

So, my question is what's necessary when mounting to overcome this reviewer's "difficulty?"

I have a local tire shop in town which doesn't seem to be particularly bothered when asked to mount a car tire on a "motorcycle" wheel, but it would be nice to prepare them for any difficulty they might encounter.

Thoughts?

Pete
