• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Alcoa Good Times Dealer

Just returned from a week up in Knoxville, Tn. Riding in the hills of Tennessee and attending the International Gold Wing Road Riders rally, Wing Ding. Just before leaving Mississippi, I decided that it was time for a new rear wheel on my :spyder2:. I call one dealer up in the area, did not have a wheel in stock so tried Alcoa Good Times in Alcoa, Tn. They had tires in stock and made a appointment with them.

Great service I received from them. Beside putting on a new shoe for the :spyder2: they answered my question about using oil. I noticed that after my 3000 mile trip in June the :spyder2: was very low in oil. It was time for an oil change so talked to my dealer in Hattiesburg, MS about it but said they did not find a leak. But once again after the 100 miles home from the dealer and 400 miles to Knoxville, the oil was low. I asked the service manger at Alcoa Good Times if they had others with using oil, he said that they would check it out while installing the tire. In a short time the oil problem was solved.

Thanks Alcoa Good Times. :2thumbs:

Wish all dealers was this knowledgeable and had this kind of customer service.

Hello Hello Are you out there. We're waiting for the rest of the story.:yikes: CJ Don't do this to me I'm a new owner

Sorry I didn't finish the story and it is the RT

A clip on the hose behind the dip stick was broke which they said was a very common thing and the Joint Torique O-Ring was missing on the dip stick. My guess is it fell off at one of the oil change that was done at the dealer and my dealer's tech did not notice it. Since these two items was fixed and 1300 miles later the oil level is the same.

Alcoa Good Times gave me a extra clip and the part number for the O-Ring (709000218). The clip he said you can pick up at any auto store.

Please tell me the answer since I take my Spyder there and I still have no answer. What color is your Spyder? I only saw 3 at Wing Ding and one was Baker's the vendor who does air wings.

I have a blue :spyder2:. Wednesday morning I was parked on the bridge till about 11 am and the other days I parked in the Holiday Inn garage.

Alcoa is a good dealer. They hosted a lunch at SITS the last 2 years and did a lot of DPS replacements last year when they first came out. They helped me out with a problem last year at SITS. If I lived in the area, I would certainly consider using them. :2thumbs:

Todd & Cat, where will I find the "good service dealers approval list " . I was pleased with the customer service I received. Would like to look over this approved listing to see if who is on the list in my area.
