• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Alarm Recommendation Needed

I have a bike lock on my Harley that I use whenever I park for a significant amount of time. I attach it to the front brake disc, and if someone accidentally nudges the handlebar, it emits a loud, obnoxious sound.

I was wondering if they sell some sort of alarm that is similar to this, but instead of a piercing alarm, it responds with a Robocop-like statement such as "Get off the bike....now" or "Dead or alive, you're coming with me". Of course, it has to set off if there is a change in the suspension, such as if someone is sitting on the bike.

I have cruised the sites of the many vendors here (Lamonster, Motorcycle Dave's, Spyderpops, Value Accessories, etc.), but have been unable to find something like this. Any advice is sincerely appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

(The reason I am asking this question is I *believe* someone sat on my bike at work. A half-cover would be a deterrent, but I'm looking for a solution that is a little trick).

I would look into a VIPER system.
I do not know how a Spyder would wire into VIPER but I know it for sure works with truck alarms that can talk because I have one that says in my voice "step back from this truck".
You would need to get separate Viper components to do this. Have fun!

Hi Pk6, when I got my cycle in Feb., I also searched for one, but couldn’t find one... & not wanting to do all the tear down & wiring to put a full alarm system on, & the brake disc are hard to access & I know it sounds like a cheapoooo, but I got a alarm w/fob off eBay... used 3m tape & mounted to the inside of the fender well... works very well... in fact since I don’t have a garage or carport I cover it when not riding, over the fender, well the wind got real strong the other nite that the cover flapping I had to shut it off... good for temp. till I find something better...

Just looked into the Viper, they do have one listed as “ powersport” security, but it didn’t mention voice, just 110db alarm, on sale, $100 off....

Got a xena disk lock that has a 140 decibel alarm if it is moved or disturbed. I used it on the Harley. Not sure it will lock to a disk on the Spyder, but it can be put on someplace. If somebody sits on the bike or bumps it, the alarms goes off and makes a lot of noise. I will see if it fits the Spyder next time I go out to the shop. The alarm is motion activated. Just walking by and bumping the handlebars would set it off on the Harley, with it locked on the front brake disk.
