• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After A Couple Of Rides...

...I thought I'd offer up an assessment of the Information Screen... :D
1. It is much easier to read
2. the turnsignal indicator lights are easier to see
3. The radio is about as inscrutable as ever
4. there's a lot more information available in there: once you figure it all out.

I only have one issue with the way that you get the information:
While I appreciate the ease at which I can get the Speedometer and Tachometer readings: I think that folks who like to "buzz the redline", will have difficulties. When you ride by the Tach: It's much easier to judge your shift-points by how quickly the indicator climbs, and heads toward the easily seen redline. Reading a number on the dash is just not as conducive to shifting right before you hit the rev-limiter.

It's a small point that won't affect many folks; I just thought I'd see if anyone else has noticed... :dontknow:

2018 RT

:yes::yes: .... Interesting about the radio ..... are you talking about reception or speaker quality ????......If it's the speakers I'm very dis-appointed in BRP ....... I've heard the ones they have in the F-3 and they are very nice .....even the four speaker set-up ....... Mike

The speakers are fantastic; reception is moderately poor, and the system is still unwieldy. :banghead:

To be fair: it's still WAY better that what I had on my 2014! :dontknow:

Your point 4. about a lot more info. is interesting. Seems that is the way of the future. The new Goldwing is going that way too. Probably a way to attract younger customers. Not something that will be useful to my old bones..... But then I will never know about the capabilities of my cell phone. I just use it to make and receive phone calls..... Damn, I'm getting old. Congrats on the new :spyder2:

Hi Timm... I know about that little trick: I just haven't had the time to take the bike apart yet...
We did that on my 2014, and it improved the reception from :nothing"; to "almost nothing".
It still couldn't find a single station to lock onto... :gaah:
This bike at least locks on in a couple of places, and I get some decent static.

Thanks for the feedback Bob.
By the way, you should update your profile and remove the “I'm waiting for my 2018 10th Anniversary RT Limited” ;)

thanks for the update. I just learned yesterday that my 2018 RTL order from last October has been shipped to my dealer (finally?)..
Hope to have it in my garage soon.

Just don't understand the fascination with the radio. There hasn't been anything on the radio that I wanted to listen too in 25 years. Sirius would be the exception, and Bob, can't you just stream that to your helmet from your phone, and cut out the middles man ( the radio on the motorcycle )? That way you enjoy better and clearer sound, and you don't have to disturb the neighbors!
