There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

I can see spending 5 grand on a turbo setup for a $40,000 vehicle but as much as I want one, Im having a hard time spending 5 grand for a turbo on a $15000 vehicle.

If they want people on here to have some direct feedback I got a guy that does turbo in my garage SO if they send me what they sell I put and use, give everyone feedback on how great it is and safe.

And everything knows I test things to their limits.

I'm with ya on that!

Turbo

Thats funny you said that, the muffler/exhaust is much cooler than the stock muffler. The stock muffler has a cat in it and is pretty restrictive, that holds in the heat. Since we're actually adding fuel to the motor now and not running it so lean, the exhaust isn'st anywhere near as hot as it used to be.

It was a hidden benefit...

BUT TELL US ABOUT THE BOOST!!

BUT TELL US ABOUT THE BOOST!!
Well you see, the turbo spools up, pressurizes the air.. then the boost gauge starts to move as the Spyder rips the tire loose! :2thumbs:

But seriously, I have been spending alot of time with the Aerocharger folks fine tuning the tune. They brought in a professional tuner from Utah, etc.. Production kits are done, the airboxes, pipes, catch cans.. are SUPER SEXY. They are powdercoating the airboxes and intercooler tanks black, all of the charge tubes are black anodized... this is a wicked kit. I would post pics, but until the parts come back from powdercoating, they dont want me sharing anything. :(

If you haven't figure this out, they are a little behind schedule on getting the pre-orders out, had to work out some kinks on a couple of pieces, etc..

Last I heard there were only a few pre-order kits available, they have been moving pretty fast. Thanks to those of you the pre-ordered!!!!!!!

I will post more when I know more.

I was waiting for that one myself

Just thought I would post it again for you to answer::

I don't see what the big deal is. There's nothing wrong with 130hp and depending on how much boost you run that is a number that could be achieved. You could make a lot more or a lot less depending on how safe you want it to be. If you get 130 with 8 lbs of boost +or- that's great if you can do it without detonation and without smoking the clutch. I still say your clutch is the weak link just like it was when I was building the blower kits for the Valkyrie.

So how much boost are you running? You don't need a dyno for that.

I emailed them and asked if they would sell the airbox and catch cans as separate items... didn't hear back. Maybe you can put a bug in their ear....

I think if they sold a replacement airbox kit with the catch-can they could sell quite a few to those of us who can't really swing for the whole turbo.

I think many would like to ditch the BRP 'oil box' and also have easier access to the engine.

I can filter the air before entering their airbox... from my cold air vents.... but ideally if they had a whole intake kit (new airbox, catch can and air filter system)... I think they could sell quite a few.

:agree::agree::agree:

Another question: are we supposed to keep the standard cast pistons or invest in forged high compression ones? :dontknow::popcorn:

Well it is pretty obvious that you don't have a clue how much boost they will be running or you just don't want to tell.nojoke

Still waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, forgot to tell you what we are waiting for so here it is once again:::

How much boost???

I don't want to get kicked out of this forum so I'll say it nicely...

He can't give us additional information. If he could, he would have by now. Everything that he has held back is not by his choosing, it's Aerocharger’s. Don't bash the middle man.

Heck, maybe I should not sugar coat this and get kicked out of this forum if this is the kind of pestering dished out from the members to other forum members.

NOTE: I look forward to argumentative replies via PM so as not to clutter this thread. It has seen its fair share of that already.

What forum are you talking about?? There are several here that would like to know what kind of boost this thing is going to run. Every time the question comes up it is ignored or pushed aside. If the boost is a secret from Aerocharger then all the "middle man" has to do is simply say: I know but have been instructed not to release this info at this time. If pre- orders are being taken then these are very pertinent questions. nojoke

I know how much boost, but its irrelevant. If you can make 50% more power with say.. 5 PSI, do you really care if its 3, 7, 5 or 10 PSI that makes the 50% more power?

But I'll humor you... the boost is 6 PSI on 91 octane gas.

Thats funny, I was out at lunch with those guys when they got the email asking about the airbox. I wish I had a pic of the airbox, its NIIIIICE... But I will speak to them about it if there is interest. Just don't be asking me for dyno numbers with the airbox and catch can installed! :joke:

I know Brad (CEO) is out for a couple of weeks taking their Polaris Rush to some snowmobile shows/dealers.. So I won't be able to sit down with him and discuss. By the way, that kit and that Rush they have is BAAAAD. Check it out: http://www.aerocharger.com/kits_polaris_rush.php

Did I mention 6 PSI on 91 Octane?

Clutch is fine, but if you think its going to be a issue, Barnett makes a kit for that - I've already shared that info with the community.

We did do some "testing" with 108 Octane gas.. maybe a little more boost... and a drag radial to get more traction... clutch didn't complain at all.. only the MT drag radial complained... in 1st gear.. in 2nd gear.... hehe

Just in case you missed my other response, the boost is 6PSI on 91 octane for the kit that will ship.
