Yet another question: If I decide to (aka. have to) get a bike license, will I be able to do the driving lessons on my trike, or must I drive a two-wheeler? After all - at least according to many a debate on
this forum - a motorcycle is "any vehicle with no more than three wheels".
It depends on the rules where you live. I have no idea about Denmark. Some states have courses for trikes, while others do not. Many of the classes will have 2 wheelers on hand for the students to use and take the tests on. While this doesn't give you the experience of ryding your own Spyder, it does teach you many important safety issues.
EDIT: Adding one more question to the seemingly endless flood of mysteries... Is it possible (and relatively easy) to replace the windshield on the RS? I was thinking of buying the RS with either the standard windshield or the Ultra Sport, if not even an aftermarket windshield,
and the Ultra Touring one for longer trips, weekend trips etc. Is that humanly possible to do it yourself, or is windshield changing a dealer job?
Windshield replacement is extremely easy, and there are many options to choose from. In fact, don't be surprised if it takes more than one windshield before you find the one that works best for you. Many of us have at least 2, if not more, lying around that were not the best suited to us.
EDIT 2: Wow, there's no dealership in Denmark, the nearest is just south of the Danish border, in Flensburg, which is about 180 miles south from here. That just sucks. I hope I'll be able to move to the States within the next few years.
Best of luck with the moving to the States; however, you might be surprised to find that there are many places that do not have any dealers very close to them here as well. You may want to check the list of US dealers on the BRP site to see if there are any where you are thinking of moving to.
