• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ability to carry more stuff

My Kewlmetal rear rack was waiting for me when I got home from work last night. This morning, I started taking off the bottom pan and the tail piece before work this morning. I will take the rest apart tonight so the Brian can install the rack tomorrow for me. Then he is going to make a sissy bar for me as well. This will allow me to carry more luggage than I currently carry. Since Spyderfest is a week long, the extra space will be nice and taking a tent to Maggie Valley, the extra space will be much appreciated. I will post photos when we are all finished. I am so excited. :2thumbs: I love my husband.

I have the kewlmetal rack as well and I love it. Purchased it from a member here for 100.00 and it rocks. I mounted the Givi E470 monolock top case on it for more room to pack items. I think you'll be more than happy with it Deb. :2thumbs:

Here are two words that I find invaluable:

Space Bag

You can roll them to get most of the air out. If you have a vacum cleaner where you stay, use that when you pack for home.

I don't know about you, But *I* always seem to come home with more stuff than I left with.

As always, my advice given by electronic posting isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Can't wait to see your set up. I've decided not to bring the trailer to Spyderfest so I will have to pack light. I've got a couple of bungees just in case I come home with more than I left with.

I will post pictures tomorrow. I thought I had posted some of Brian's but I can find them right now. He already has the Kewlmetal rack and has made himself a sissybar that he has used for a couple of years now.

Ok, We got the Kewlmetal Rack installed today. Brian is making another sissybar at work for the spyder. I put his sissybar on my spyder in the mean time to show what we are doing. Then I took a photo with my bikersfriend rear seat bag. It now stays in place a lot better and is an even better back rest then it was before. I still have to get my sissybar luggage, but for the photos, I put Brian's on my bike, so you could get an idea of how much we can now carry. Add to all this my saddle bags and the trunk and I think I will be able to easily pack for a week with room to bring home something if need be. Here are the pics:

Our new sissy bars are going to turn out much nicer looking. Hopefully they'll be strong enough as they are made out of much smaller stock.
