• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

5th official, 8th unofficial Limp Mode today

Got a message when I was out on the road...riding a motorcycle that's not mine again. The new VCM came in, they removed my old one and confirmed through some external test that it is infact broken. Should have the spyder back tomorrow with a new yaw servo, GPS and VCM.

Let us hope this one is the charm. You really need to try having your spyder in your possession for extended periods of time.

I could fill this screen up with curse words right now, but I won't. I won't be getting my spyder back today...during a road test with the new yaw sensor, VCM and GPS...it went back into limp mode. Now BRP wants to change the entire wire harness.

Well, the good news is that you'll have a brand new Spyder before you're done. Good luck, Jim. :opps:

I'm sure those curse words could peel paint, too. Don't hardly blame you. So sorry! I remember us discussing replacing the wiring harness way back when. Of course they wouldn't hear of it. You have the patience of a saint. I hope this gets resolved for good...soon! Hang tough.

I happened to arrive at the dealer right when they finished and....
The wire harness failed to fix the problem.:banghead:
Same failing VCM. I left in disgust, unfortunately the Spyder is also effectively eating up to much of my credit for any type of motorcycle loan given the current economy. So I am looking at used, but man are they used! I got a call a short time later that after "playing with it a little", the problem cleared itself. Once again, the fault codes have disappeared like herpes only to return unexpectedly. They are going to ride it, but this has happened to me before so I am skeptical. I have had fault codes disappear with a few turns of the key, only to have a hard fault send it into limp mode at some later time.

Ouch! Man, there has got to be a way your state's lemon law can help here. From what I have seen, you certainly qualify. Can somebody with the State advise you on the forms or procedures, or do you need a lawyer (which you were unable to find despite the ads)? I feel your pain!

I thought I had a lot of patience. Dude you are a Saint. I think I would be flipping out by now. They need to send this Spyder back to the factory and give you a new one asap. nojoke

So run down what they have done and replaced.

These are only the "officially logged" problems. I have been in 2 other times, but the work was not documented. I think one of the VCM was actually a DPS, but their entries are a little cryptic.
64 days total out of service.

Yes, it's past time for BRP to bite the bullet, step up to the plate, and give you a different spyder.

Mine still has nagging shifting problems and a persistent backfire, but at least I can ride it.

Don't you have an attorney friend who can call and make some demands?

Yes, I went ahead with filing today. He's suppose to speak with BRP, I am very curious what they will say.
