• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder RS (after 2 1/2 years on the market) is finally getting recognition in the Spyder ambassador’s world: Mickey Fisher and Faran Hearyman are one week away to take possession of their RS roadsters.

Good idea doc. Time to leave the past and move into the future. Of the original 5, I think only 3 really fulfilled the task and seemed to enjoy doing it. Its gonna be nice to see opinions from some stock rs Spyder ambassadors, providing they kept the rydes in factory condition. Many changes such as seat, risers etc would take away from the rs style. Just my opinion.

Hopefully one or both of them will get more involved in the SpyderLovers forum once they are settled in with their ambassador Spyders. :spyder:

:agree: +1. I was wondering why we have not heard anything from them yet but I just assumed they were blogging away somewhere else and I just did not know where to look. :D I wish them all the best and am very excited for both of them. Doc, great logo. You have talent, Sir!

I like that!

In seven days and oh, about 1.5 hours (but who's counting?!) I'll have my first taste of all things Spyder. Can't wait to ride the RS. As a new Ambassador and new rider, I have lots to learn. But it's bound to be the most fun I've ever had learning. (Scuba diving being a possible tie!).

Thanks for including us RS Ambassadors ;)

:welcome: don't be a stranger this forum when you get your new ride. We will be looking forward to hearing from you.

I hope to hear from our new ambassadors on this forum also. I think after theyv'e had their maiden ryde they'll have plenty of questions and comments. And as always, this forum and it's members will be there for them.:firstplace: Thanks Lamonster:thumbup:

I also think it is a good idea for the ambassadors to be involved with spyder websites. That would help them to be knowledgeable about what is going on in Spyder world--not just what sales events are happening at dealers.

I realize the whole thing is a BRP public relations thing--and they are hoping to create more interest in the product. If the ambassadors are not part of the community--I think BRP is missing something.

Just my .02

Good for these two individuals for winning this contest. I for one do not get the whole ambassador thing.
Me, like so many others here, put out their cash, site unseen, for their spyder.
I purchased mine based on an artists conception photo on the cover of a bike magazine that a co-worker showed me. I paid my $1000 deposit and waited a year for my bike to arrive. I then purchased a second bike and several thousand dollars worth of accessories. All this time, answering numerous questions about the bike every time I stopped.

So, I like so many others have been an ambassador from day one, and, pardon me if I do not get the whole ambassador thing. My question is where is the ambassador contest for Spain, France, Australia, Canada etc.?

Call me crazy but, recognition should be given HUGE, to the riders who took a leap of faith on the spyder right out of the gate. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Hey, I love that logo!

I'll have plenty to report after this week, once we get the official kickoff and I know a bit more of the specifics about what I'm doing and certainly after getting some experience on the Spyder.

Looking forward to sharing my travels and meeting more of you guys on the road. Thanks again for all the good wishes and invitations!

...and we missed your "Hey!" posts! ;)
Good luck this week and represent us (The RS's) with honor.

I understand what you're saying - but BRP is doing this as a marketing gig -- and the US is their biggest market. I don't think it means BRP doesn't consider most of us owners (I waited a year too for PE #1977) to be ambassadors. They have done more for us owners in the way of events, goodies, etc... than any other company I've bought 'toys' from.

I've been to plenty of BRP events and they've always been free. Free food, fun and goodies. Even had various BRP reps buy dinner and drinks -- just because I rode a measly 200 miles for an event.

I think BRP appreciates all of us 'ambassadors' plenty - but that isn't the reason we all talk up the Spyder so much--we do it because we love the bike so much.:2thumbs:

You're gonna have the time of your life!

Hope we can hook up sometime when you get back in the OH area... if not then for sure at Lamont's BBQ and Maggie Valley! :2thumbs:
