• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2024 Models Are On the Can-Am Site

If I were to buy a new 2024 spyder, I would get the F3 LTD Special Series in the Cognac Metallic.

I see that the F3 & the RT spyder models have the lane -assist.

I didn't see the lane assist feature, but that's pretty neat if you can turn it on and off.

I was just checking the price of the RT and it has bot changed much from what mine was in 2014, although the starting price shown will be bare, bare, bare bones and mine was an RTS.

JohnRuckus,

It is listed in the Instrumentation section ( Echo Mode Smart Assist,https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/e...yder-f3.html#spyder-f3-limited-special-series ) it detects if the driver goes over the white line or the yellow line on the roads. When the driver goes over the white line on the road, it beeps at you.

With all due respect, I don't think that's what it means. It says: "ECO mode smart assist". Without the comma, I'm taking it to means a direct reference to the ECO mode engine tune/mapping.

It would be nice to have lane assist, but that would require integrating a radar module, which would also make adaptive cruise control as a feature. That would be a huge advertising point, plus a large price jump.

KX5062,

I was just throwing that out there. Thanks for the clarification.

Extra 3" of display was needed. The choice of Apple CarPlay vs Android Auto is controversial as most new cars are using Android OS now, and Apple users only comprise of about 28% of the market share compared to 71% Android at this point.

Maybe globally if you count all the cheap Androids sold elsewhere. In the US, iPhones are > 50% of the market. Guessing the US is the biggest market too for the Spyder, but I don't know for sure.

I just sold my 2017 Spyder RTS since I'm moving and it would be pain to transport it. But I will be in the market for a 2024 for sure. Loved the old one, and having CarPlay will be huge for me anyway.

Interestingly enough, CarPlay is the one thing I've felt was really missing, so I'm glad it was added on. I understand those of you who are use Android are disappointed, and I agree it should also be an option.

I completely understand why there aren't major upgrades, but it really is long past time to do more with the color choices, at the very least.

I saw Smoak's video from the BRP convention. Anyone hear anything about getting Apple Car Play on older models?

I watched the videos CanAm posted to their Youtube channel. I'm an Android user, but even if I was an Apple user, it would not attract me. Maybe fixing the radio and amp, auto mode switching would be attractive. My '06 GL1800 had much better sound. Giving a way to skip acknowledgment of the nag screen (let it time out after two months?) would be welcome.

I am an Android phone user. I can not use the Car play on the 2024 Spyder models. I am keeping my current bike which is a 2023 F3 LTD Special Series.

But I do I like the F3 LTD Special Series Cognac Metallic.

I haven't. The new display is only for the '24 models and I don't know if there is a simple software update that can be added to the older models.

I haven't been on here for quite a while.
I saw the new white S2S in Ottawa, Canada. I think it looks beautiful. I would say "pearl / tooth enamel" would best describe what kind of white it is.
I heard several years ago that BRP would offer an even larger engine than the current 1330, but, alas, that hasn't come to fruition.
Until then, looks like I'll be hanging onto my 2016 RT Ltd.
I now have 90,000 Kms on her (56,000 Miles). Will easily roll it over 100,000 Kms this season..

Cheers all from Kingston, Ontario.

I looked the other day, there isn't enough to make me thing about buying new, my 21 is just the way I like it. Chris
