• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2018 F3-T shifting disaster

BUDS is a computer system used by (good) shop tech/mechanics to diagnose problems of the bike. The bikes have a bunch of computers that record a multitude of events, including even the RPM's you change gears at.

Another idea, and maybe others with chime in, is BRP used to have a direct line customers could call for problems and they would start a "case" and contact your dealer to help resolve problems. Does anyone know if this still exists?

Oh Lordy. Wonder if I can order one and keep it around just in case?? (If they are too slow) Is there a seller such as Rockauto or something similar for BRP stuff?

You probably could just Google the part number and get a list of places that offer it. The part # for an 2018 Spyder RT Limited is 710006574. That's what I did.

I've been waiting for mine since last Oct. Newest "estimated" arrival date is July, if true or accurate, that's nine months.
I ordered one from Cheap Cycle Parts 11 days ago, got it today for what its worth. Took one hour to install. They showed 4 in stock when I ordered it.

That is wonderful! Looking at the site, I cannot find the appropriate diagram that seems to correspond to the left hand electronic assembly for shifting, signals, etc. Can you help me out? What exactly will I order from them? When I look for the handlebar electrical assembly it only gives me 2019, nothing for 2018. My Can Am is an F3-T. Not an RT LTD.
Would the switch housing be the same? I know plenty of stuff, but not this stuff...:D Appreciate the help.

I'm sure He will help you out with the part # .... however a neat feature that Cheap Cycle Parts provides is, it will tell you what parts will fit and can be safely substituted for ALL the models of Spyders. .... I'm going to shopping for you, and see what I can find ..... Mike  ...Well I give up trying to find ...... if rcan08 provides the part number I'll check it ..... Mike

Oh Thank You so much!!! Now at least I can take the part number to them and ask before I order it for myself. Obviously it is on their dime (in a perfect world where people have integrity)...I really appreciate the help!!

No problem .... this what " Spyderlovers " is all about ...... if the dealer won't warranty this ... I would reach out to " BRP connect " & ask them to. ....PM - Peter Aawen ( a moderator here ) and ask him for info about contacting BRP ..... good luck .... Mike

It pays to explore options. CSP is a good source although I've found them to not necessarily be lower in cost than my local dealer when factoring in shipping costs. I live west of DFW and there is a BRP DC in Dallas.

I've gotten better pricing and quicker service IF the part is in stock at the DC by ordering via brp.com and having it shipped to the dealer for pickup. Obviously in the case of your needed part being on backoder, go where the part is. You also need to know what part to order. ;-)

update, so far so "good"

Last word is, after a month in the shop (again) they replaced the left hand gear shift assembly, and the solenoids--again!-- entirely. This for free, although they would not reimburse any of the previous "fixes" that I had paid for in full...(really? Only about $1600 spent for nothing!) :banghead: Seems to work as of now. Thanks again for your help!
