• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2015 RTS shifting issues

My 2015 RTS doesn't want to shift back to 1st gear after riding long enough to get hot. When I come to a stop, shift to neutral and then try shifting back to 1st, the rpms rev a couple hundred and it clicks as though it's trying but will not shift. I took it to the dealer yesterday but there were no codes and they could not replicate the issue. I drove it home (about 25 miles) pulled in he garage and the problem is there again. Bike only has about 900 miles on it. I attached a link with a video of what it's doing. Has anyone else experienced anything like this. Tired of stopping for gas and not being able to ride away when ready.

For most of your video that flashing red light show your parking brake is engaged. BUT definitely shouldn't be making the noise it does when trying to go into gear. The Florida group will be along shortly to let you know which dealer to call; sounds like you might want to loose the one you purchased from!!!:yikes:

Thanks Igetaround. I realized the brake was on and turned it off for the last attempt. Thanks for letting me know someone's seeing the post!

Sorry for not providing that detail in the original post. I have a hand brake that I use and to make sure that it wasn't somehow the issue, used the foot brake with the same result.

There has been a problem with gearbox position sensors.

There was actually a recall performed just after I got it on that very thing. Thinking the recall should've taken care of any issues like this.

little checking...

:agree: oil level and check that they have a good tight connection on the linkage.

being everything else was mentioned, i see the cruise control was engaged, try turning that off. shouldn't make a difference but something to try

If he's low on oil at 900 miles on a 1330 engine, he's got bigger problems then not being able to shift. My Spyder doesn't consume any oil in 9,000 miles between changes and hasn't for the entire 65,000 miles I've got on it. Even during break in.

Haven't had any issues with oil level being off. I haven't tried turning off the cruise and don't think it should cause an issue but is worth a try.

I bought at CFP's which is where the recall was done. I'm closer to SPS's so took it there after having the issue again a couple times.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I will post whatever I find that fixes it once it happens.

Cruise control in the on position should have no effect at all. Mine is on 100% of the time, now it being in Set would be another issue but you can't set the cruise when you are stopped.

So the dealer has had my bike for about a week and in working with BRP has been instructed that the solution is to change out a hydraulic pump. Being told the part is around $2,000 and allows the tech 4 hours (he's thinking it will take 6 to do the job) and it will all be covered by warranty as it should. I called BRP after being told it will be up to a week bf they will even have the part to ask that since it only has 900 miles on it I would like them to have the part overnighted. Their response is that I could pay to have it sent faster. I'm not going to lie, this pisses me off a lot. Not only is someone about to open up my brand new machine, but I also get to not have access to the bike for what's looking like 3 weeks......if all goes well with the repair. Asking the company to eat an overnight charge to get me back on the road asap after spending over $30k (bike and trailer) doesn't seem like I'm asking a whole lot. The fact that this is happening this early on is making me concerned that the purchase may not have been a good choice.

I called the customer service number provided by the dealer 1 (888) 272-9222 and got the response I explained above. Anyone have any other ways to talk to someone that may help me out with getting this resolved. The dealership already told me that BRP automatically denies any request they put through for overnight at the company's cost.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for complaining but this is not supposed to be part of the experience I was signing up for.

The "expedited shipping" thing is pretty common. I paid a bit extra a few years ago to get a water pump overnight. It's simply an extra fee out of the dealers pocket. Actually, I was happy to have a choice and get the part quicker.
The entire 1330 setup is still very new and I'm sure will have some random bugs to work out here and there. It's all new so hang in there!

See if CFPS can overnight the part, AND maybe get you some goodwill discount from BRP on other items. Not the answer you want, spending more, but possibly there is something you have your eye on. CFPS sells something and BRP corporate pays for it, you wind up with the item. CFPS gets very high marks it seems.

BS

Sounds like BRP is just like Victory and a few other cycle company's got your money and now they don't give a s###, spent all that money, and the company does not care enough about their new customer to over night a part to get you back on the road, its a good thing your not a 1000 miles from home on a vacation that you just started, I have 1200 miles on my new 2015 RT, this scares the hell out of me, I have a trip planed in May for 3 weeks, hope this doesn't happen to me, I can see now that BRP will not be helpful. rant over.:banghead:
