• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2015 RTL SE6 - 15.5k Mi. Brought new 9 months ago. (zero mileage)
Having intermittent problems with the bike not automatically downshifting. I'll slow down then stop and the bike is still in 6th gear.
Doesn't happen all the time. Not sure if our hot weather is a factor.
Fluid levels are fine. Dealer can't find the problem and BRP says they have no other reports of this kind. No help from them.

I think dealer is full of you know what. Did they really contact BRP? The shift linkage or maybe something else is out of adjustment. Did they check for codes?

To send you down the road with a "we don't know" is suspect.

Let us know what happens in your case.

Agree...

:agree: as mentioned above as well as the actuator or sensors may be having issues. This is not the first we hear of this so brp can not be saying they know nothing. Check with another dealer or open a case....

Jack, who was the dealer you took it to? I'm guessing RideNow Surprise since you live out that way. Maybe try RideNow in Chandler as myself and quite a few others in the Valley have had good experience with them.

As stated by the previous respondents, this sounds like total bull.

Please throw another vote on the "You absolutely NEED to find another Dealership!" pile... nojoke

Gear position sensor, gearshift actuator, a software glitch in the shift protocols... These should have ALL been seriously looked at...

RydeNow in Goodyear.

The service manager took it this afternoon. It failed!!! He even had trouble downshifting manually.
Ha has sent all information he could get to BRP. Probably won't hear back until Monday.
The good news is that it failed and they saw it.

Pam, You seem happy with RN in Chandler. It's a tad far away from me but I'll give them a try next time.
How have you been?

Can't say much for this dealer. Per the service manual-

Check for invalid vehicle speed signal.
Check for invalid gear position signal.

Hi Jack, sorry to hear, nothing worst then a dealer not knowing whats wrong. Makes you loose confidence in the love of your spyder. I have had great service from Chandler R.N. we also have a great independent mechanic in mesa who is great for putting on car tire.
Goog luck I hope the problem is solved quick.

There is a service bulletin for the gear position sensor on some 2015 RT models. I heard some had got some sort of fluid spilled on them and they were failing.

Well the latest update is that they are going to replace the paddle shifter. Stayed tuned for more exciting adventures.

OK, got the bike back 2 days ago. They replaced the paddle shifter housing and all is well. upshifts nice and smooth and downshifts automatically if I let it. The thinking was that that incorrect voltage was being passed down the line,

Jack
